Maybe... but by asking for my phone # you're trying to prove something to @fullautotrading, right? My point is IDK or care what @fullautotrading really thinks since he's oversold his value IMHO. Hope this helps you understand my reasoning.

Dude, it's odd. That shit you see in the Godfather 2, where the momma is living in the home of the son when she is old? (Michael's house, where they talk about losing their familia).

I saw that on my Italian side too. Straight up. On Long Island, in my mom's uncle's house was a dedicated room for his mom, because she was old. And I don't mean just "a room". The thing was like a shrine with pics and religious bits all over the place. The Italian moms are taken care of by the Italian sons when they get old. Real traditional shit.

  5. I was trying to definitively prove him wrong. I would never brag about working as a trader for 25+ years, having written millions of lines of code, and only average $1100/day as a result thereof. Either he's full of shit as you say or a victim of the sunk cost fallacy. one way or the other, my diplomacy ends here. I happen to agree with you and I hate dishonest accusations towards people I value (Dest) hence why I was willing to verify.

it's fine. I'm not irritated with you or anything. I'm more so irritated that I ever came off as supporting the OP. that's what bothered me because it's the complete opposite.

my stay is clearly unwelcome, so I'll bow out from here. hope it helps you as well.

I glossed over this. My futures and futures options quotes are delayed in the sim-account tied to my IRA. The quotes are delayed but the fills are obv based upon a r/t snapshot. This thread is gold.

Lots of traditional shit belongs to USA Italian immigrants specifically, and maybe south America.
Most of those families who moved to the States after the first and the second wolrd war, took the traditions with them.
In the meantime, italians in Italy changed with time. Churches are empty to give you an example, and you have lots of disturbed gender fluid millenials with pink hair (ironic here, people can be whatever they want), like in the rest of Europe.

What you see in the USA, like the crazy religious saints hanging in cars obsession, the show off attitude... Belongs to the USA. Those Italians are stuck in the 1930's.

Even the mafia, as you mentioned a classic... In the states, before they arrested most of them as they talk too much (and maybe even now), people were showing off "hey Vinnie, have you seen my cadillac, or my wife fur coat? Have you heard Tony is a made man now?"

Try that in the south of Italy...
people would make you disappear as a snitch if you are a man of honour. Those same people who would claim that mafia doesn't even exist and movies are to blamed. And if they do not belong to the mafia, they would shun you.
Completely different attitude, two different planets.
    Even the language changed.
Italian in the USA speak an Italian (or dialect) that belongs to the 1960.
People make fun of them when they visit back home.

Regarding mothers and family in general, I see nothing wrong in taking care of one's elderly.
I understand some people come from disfunctional, abusive or hate filled families, specially in the cities, where the degradation and lifestyle is never as good as in smaller realities.
So you have lonely people dieing alone, busy care homes, and young adult with mental health and lots of regrets.

No, grazie. I would take care of my family to their last day, even if that meant leaving the shithole of the city I am living in, and relocate back to the god forgotten village.
"Whatever it takes", to quote a nasty Italian mobster.
But probably I am one of those lucky people who loves his family.
