See what I mean @fullautotrading ? You should post your bullshit to your own website and then just put links to it here. At least that would save us the trouble of reading it

    Here are a few recommendations...

  2. Well thanks, but I prefer to think of myself as a sort of eternal student, always ready to absorb anything, like a sponge. :)
Other people prefer to assume they know it all, and end up like you :)

Well if you look through my post, you will find that I posted a lot of code.

Actually, once I posted here on ET the entire program to compute the PNL decomposition. But don't ask me to retrieve it, because I would not be able to find it :)

Later, I will show you the exact shape of our payoff emerging from our many layers.

Keep in mind, though that it will not be "static" (like it happens in a single trade), as the whole point of automation is to make it slide along with the underlying. This is necessary to make sure we constantly find ourselves in a zone of positive payoff.

I will show you that using a little plugin for quick and unlimited option payoff computations that I coded last Saturday, and which is also freely available for download

(btw, still testing/debugging it: so let me know any bugs or malfunctions you see)

For the lovers of source code, I will also provide a few "snippets" later on of the most interesting code "details" of the above, in case you are interested to replicate something similar for your own needs.

  3. Well, my dear spy

This is "my" thread (quoted because it is not really mine :) ) if am not mistaken. Your presence here, although surely welcome, is not strictly required.

Although, of course, you may stay and continue to help me reinforce my arguments :)

  4. It wasn't a dig, just trying to understand the usage. I mean, I'm reading between the lines here obviously but whatever. it's your journal, write as you wish.

Ahahahaha! Yeah, but I only want to read the good parts... you post way too much bullshit in between. That's why you need to organize it better. For a small fee I can help you setup social/forum software on your own site ;)

You can get the money from your "rich daddy". Is that the kind of reinforcement you're looking for? Lol

  6. As soon as you get enough funds in a portfolio margin account that I can feel confident you can trade profitably with automation, and won't blow up (thus wasting my time) :)

(And you will have to post all results and real-time screenshots transparently over here.)

If you can't set up the software against a test account first, why on earth would someone give you access to their live account? The order of things matters, you (of all people) should know this. Lol

You said it yourself earlier... there are things called parameters; the login info can be changed at anytime.

When you have a demo machine ready for me, then I'll login and type my credentials myself. Don't worry, I have portfolio margin with plenty of funds.... my sharpe last month was ~8.

You may be a genius professor, you may even know something about finance, HELL your system might even actually work. But you don't know a very basic thing that even many undergraduate business students know:

    fullautotrading likes this.
  8. You do not seem to have done your homework, and not read my working "rules", nor understood the deal. I could not care less about what you think your Sharpe ratio is (outlier values are just an indication of a gambling attitude).

I usually require my "investors" to trade on a "paper trading" account for at least 1 year before even thinking of moving to a "real money" account (well, unless the fewer cases, of persons I already know, and I can trust.)

Clearly, there is no point in letting test "undercapitalized" traders (quoted because "undercapitalization" may regard either money or brain :)), because they would not be able to make a profit and therefore will just waste my time and resources.
    This is all "performance-based".

Each new account I supervise is quite a cost and investment on my part, as it is monitored in real-time 24/7, ready to intervene at the slightest problem, and it has to print $$$.

If you wish to trade with my platform, simply follow the "rules": they are laid out quite clearly (I hope) on my website, and many, before you, have followed them successfully.

  10. If this is Elite Trader, there is a reason :)

And guess what, it may not be you :)
