I have a stupid question... on your web-site it says:

"If you are ready, have the IB Gateway installed, and meet the account and fund requirements, please install a remote free desktop (preferably Teamviewer or Windows RDP) and get in contact via WhatsApp +39 3272347610 sending the login: we will compile and install the algorithmic platform for you and provide you with some initial setup and guidance during the initial paper trading stage."

...but every decent piece of software I've ever used has either 1) provided an installer script or 2) been available as source code so the end-user can install/build it themselves. Why do you need to have access to the end-user machine? Can't you just package the software and provide some simple documentation?

This has what software engineers call a "bad code smell" right off the bat. It's like you just want a trojan backdoor to people's computers!

I'm not sure how many people, esp. those with real money, will trust you enough for something like that. Then again, there's a sucker born every minute.

Ultimately, if you're a professor, and your algorithm is truly novel... why not publish it in a journal or on your university web-site? I'm not flat out calling you a liar, but you sure are going about things in a highly suspect manner.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  2. If you read with attention what is written on the website, you should already have the answers to your question. I will repeat something, anyway.

I am not someone selling any software. This is a development project that now has more than 25 years of hard work, and there is nothing being sold.

What I do, is to partner with suitable investors, who actually eventually become friends to produce together the best possible results in terms of reciprocal satisfaction.

The software is installed on their own machines and the reason why I have access to the trading machine (a machine devoted only to this activity) is that, as part of the "deal", I have promised to monitor their activity and intervene in case of any problem. I can also provide machines when I am asked to (and in that case, they would have complete access).

Also, for those who cannot "walk by themselves" yet, in the initial "paper trading" phase, I show how to manage the folio and how to do the folio supervision activity ("information transfer", protective layers, and so on). I also install updates when necessary and often take care of folio maintenance, when they are still beginning to understand the approach.

If one wants to cut me out from the machine anytime is free to do so. I could not care less.

This is a highly complex system and nobody on the planet would be able to use it without some initial guidance and illustration.

This is all setup is based on trust.

There are no contracts. I have half of my life on the line. They just have a few million each, which is nothing compared to the value of this whole enterprise. So, anyone is free to do whatever he deems best. We are all adults.

Again, I invite anyone to try. Anyone can show transparent results here on ET, if they wish so.

The only thing is that I have no time for the penniless. My time is highly valuable and I am already quite busy with the current accounts to accommodate also accounts that are too small, as it may seem counterintuitive, for me it is way more tiring to supervise an account of 1M than an account of 10M or 50M.

Everything is transparent here, and I am well-known and have really nothing to hide.

Everyone - who meets basic prerequisites - can see by himself what I built in these years and whether or not it works and decide with his own brain :)

Do you think I worked on this project for 25+ years to have access to some PC on the other side of the world?
Have you ever done a project of this size, with millions of lines of code and thousands of classes of pure madness? :)
Would I really need to carry out all this infinite work just to attempt to scam adult investors, with the smartest brains around?

Do you not realize how absurd and childish is your illation? Only a juvenile mind could live in a world where something so shallow might be envisioned as a possibility.

No thanks, I have plenty of computers and monitors over here! :)

As to publishing. I already did my scientific publications. And that might be enough for what I got back :)

Anyway, thank you for asking: your interest is appreciated.

It took you 25Y to learn to short puts and troll people on your thread at 2am?

OK, so this paper trading thing in between AP teaching... WTF happened here, bc you clearly were at risk of going debit?! Looks like 60-70% loss from previous equity-trough. You shit the bed in June. I mean even below the little red line thingy.

Is the red line $0.00 account net liq? bc that would be a no-no.

If you were short stupid amount of sim-puts as you are now... you would have been called and wiped out on variation margin.

  4. Dear Donkey, you are an adult. If you do not understand my work or do not like it, you are free to go.

Your existence really means nothing to me. Go back and watch your account: I have seen it and you need it, trust me :)

I understand losses. I also understand the impact to microstructure when you attempt to cover these short putas in June. Well, if you weren't on sim I mean.

Cool story. The day that you earn your haircut in a single day is the day I'll rim you in public.

This doesn't just sound counterintuitive... it sounds like complete bullshit. If you're legit, you'll take some good advice and build an installer, it shouldn't take more than a few hours. Better yet, do a static build and just distribute everything as a zip/tgz file. C'mon... we weren't born yesterday. For the love of God, as a professor you should actually open-source the thing. But @destriero is right... you're a fraud :(

    Prove me wrong.

  7. The software already has an installer: I do not have to build it.

Open-source. LOL! So you think you would be able to understand and manage the code? Some millions of lines of code? Right. You must be a kid.

Go learn to code yourself, instead of asking for "open source"!

  8. Wow, great percentages!

if you are terrified by a 5% DD on capital, I suggest you close your little account and buy a few toys on Amazon :)

    AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH! You have no idea.

It's 2022, there's an army of people running open source Unix and managing the systems all by themselves. And you really want me to believe that you hand-wrote 1e6 lines of crap on a Windows system, never bothered to make it cross-platform, didn't use any 4GL tools and it's somehow so unique and advanced that your average kernel hacker can't manage it?!?!

And, on top of it all... you're looking for investors because it's not printing money fast enough on it's own!?!?!? Your story has so many holes and contradictions I don't even believe you could code your way out of a paper bag.

AHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!! You're so full of bull I'm about to piss my pants!!!
