Wild ass mobs running through my 'hood... what a scenario, checking the old weapons cabinet here.... crossbow!! Bingo... laser sight, no noise, drop about five a minute for many minutes, better than shooting, making a lot of noise so they can run and retrench...

You're doing a bit of chest drumming this morning. But we both know that when push comes to shove with the mobs, that they vastly outnumber us, you will run out of ammunition and be dismembered.

Time and time again, it's the "Black Block" or self-described "Anarchists" clad in face masks and truncheons that are responsible for 99% of the violence and property destruction in major protests, worldwide.

Traditionally, the Police stand idly-by while they riot and turn the city upside down. In some cases, police undercovers impersonated anarchists and vandalized property. The police give these Black Block shit disturbers free reign to make legitimate protest and the protesters cause, look bad. Guilt by association.

The same script has played out at nearly every single G8, G20, WTO and free-trade summit - around the world - in the past 10 years. Quite Machiavellian. Last summer in Toronto during the G8, same story. My sister was there. The Black Block just smashed and burned through half the city and the police did NOTHING. Then, a day later, when the city was outraged, the police went hardcore on everyone - they beat and arrested mostly peaceful protesters and onlookers. As a rule, the Police will NOT touch the Black Block or interfere with their violence.

Visit the next G8 or G20 protest and just watch what happens. It's appalling.

  6. Yes, but do you think it is some sort of evil plot to make the maindemonstrators look bad or is it just the fact the police are hamstrung by orders and also lack operational flexibility?

In DC, there was a typical huge anti-globalist demonstration at a G-something or other meeting. The police ordered an unruly crowd to disperse and when they failed, rounded them up. There was a huge outcry that they had arrested people who were not part of the mob and that a mass arrest was illegal.

The City Council, which of course is totally leftwing, had a fit and huge damages were paid out. That sort of thing doesn't exactly makethe police want tos tick their neck out. They know a lot of these anarchists are spoiled rich kids who will show up in court with a bevvy of lawyers and civil lawsuits will follow.

Of course, people who were trying to get to their offices, etc were forcibly blockaded by demonstators and the police did nothing.

Believing that "a lot" of them are merely spoiled, rich kids makes us feel better about demonizing them and the whole protest, but the simple fact is that as stratification continues to increase around the world, as population continues to grow, and as we continue to vacuum the oceans completely clean of fish, among other problems, that the sheer number of protests, the number of people participating, and the violence we're seeing, are all on the rise. Are there recently a lot more spoiled, rich kids worldwide, or is something else going on here?

not if you stockpile 100,000 rounds and have at least 3 or 4 "equalizers".

Possibly, but then unlike you bleeding heart girlie man types some of us would prefer to go down fighting rather than just passively let it happen.

I think it's a plot to vilify legitimate protest. It's not exactly a one-off thing. The same narrative has played out like clockwork for the past 10 years. Police services are well-aware of the black block and know they're responsible for the destruction and violence we see at every protest. Yet time and time again, when a fresh summit convenes, Police leave them alone. They wouldn't even go near them in Toronto. But then, after a day or so, we see mass arrests of peaceful marchers and beatings.

The rank-and-file cop follows orders. They come from the Chief, which is under the Mayor. Which may be advised by the FBI or national police services. The facts don't lie. The foot soldiers would love to round up these punks. But they have their orders. There was a big G meeting in Quebec a few years back. One of the undercover cops was exposed as a black block protester who attacked his fellow police. It's all a big game. Left-wingers dress up as tea-parties and march around demonstrations, making racial slurs and death threats, then upload it to youtube. Scott Walker admitted they considered planting right-wingers in the union protests, and have them act violently to discredit the strikers. It's the same shit over and over again. So to suggest the snow white doves in Government and politics aren't capable of lying and smearing their enemies with a little subterfuge, well, that's a bit naive, don't you think? If you do some research on it, especially the protests in Seattle, you'll see the same thing. If I recall, the City of Seattle even gave the anarchists a building to squat in after they trashed downtown. And the police left them alone. Scott free. They're protected, either from orders by the Chief or the Mayor.
