This PC features an Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 2.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM, 320GB Serial ATA hard drive, DVD burner, and Windows Vista Home Basic. Deal ends March 20 at 7 am ET. $299 shipped. No monitor but hey, you would have paid more than this for just the memory not long ago.
thanks, #4 sounds good too. does techbargains normally have deals this good or are these unusually good deals? I also wonder about where the cheapest place to score a Vista Home Premium or XP license is.
Usually are not discounted much, but sometimes Newegg has XP OEM for $89. Might be better to buy a retail version so you could use it on more than one machine... not at the same time of course.

Easy to wipe Vista and install the XP upgrade (not to mention getting rid of all the Dell consumer crap they pre-load!)
Insane deals. Thanks for the links guys. Check out this one. Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 Dual Core T3400 2.16 GHz, 2GB DDR3, 160GB HDD, DVDRW, WiFi, Vista Premium, 14" WXGA LCD w/ Webcam $399 --$430 shipped
Don't be so sure, with OEMs, it's changing. Microsoft is really pressuring them to force Vista onto users. With laptops it's been a pain to wipe vista and put XP for almost 2 years. With desktops it's becoming a problem, especially Dell. Check the model on the web to see if anyone ran into problems with reinstalling XP over Vista.
