It's exactly the sense of my original question. I tried yesterday the MX518 but it fits exactly as the MX500 I already had on another PC. The shop yesterday did not carry the G5 for a trial. That's why I looking for feedbacks about the Logitec G5 Laser that seems similar the MX1000 -- but it's corded.
After reading this whole thread and specifically this post i went out and bought the MX518... man what a nice mouse... totally agree... just floats... and fits my hand great... cj... __________________ HAVE STOP - WILL TRADE If You Have The Vision We Have The Code
I had the opposite problem. I couldn't find anyone that had the mx518 or the G5 on display. In fact I couldn't even find the MX518 in stock- it wasn't even listed on the shelf tags. I tried BB and CompUSA. I did find the mx500 on display. I had to open the box at CompUSA to feel the G5 mouse out. I settled on the G5. I liked the texture and the cloth cord. I got some sort of "advertised special" on amazon so I'm only paying $52 for it. I don't know what "advertised special" means - adverstised where? on Amazon? Why is that a special? - who knows. Checking todays price I saved a buck! Booyah! Should be here next week. BTW, I also considered the G7. It seems like they have *sort of* fixed the latency issues associated with wireless mice - and you get a second battery. You can recharge it in the craddle/receiver while you use the other battery. I've never had a wireless mouse before so I wasn't willing to make the leap. Oh and it looks like the G5 can only use the USB for connection. It can't use the standard ps/2.
