I understand that most of the big locals on the IPE are now trading on ICE at the arcade. If you do go; all you need to pack is an overnight bag cuz the NYMEX will abandon the london floor shortly after opening... if they ever do open...IMHO
The NYMEX locals in NYC are not "lightweights" by any means, shape, or form. There are some huge MASTADONS in the New York crude pit, and some extremely WEALTHY locals as well. Don't forget, the seat prices alone have gone from $50,000 in 1986 to over $2.5 million currently. Not sure how NYMEX Brent will do, but on July 15th of last month, the NYMEX in New York set a daily volume record of 1,044,370 contracts traded, beating the previous record set on April 13th of this year.
