McCain should get credit for urging Congress to move. That's what got it done.

I agree. Everyone wants to see McCain on Letterman and apparently the bailout was the hold up. Congress, in an unusual move realized the sooner we get McCain out of DC the sooner we can tune in.

 

GS is higher on the completed agreement.

 

Victory may have been declared too early. But, the goalposts for the bailout will simply be moved to Monday before the market open, as lawmakers work through the weekend.

 

Republicans killed this thing, led by McCain and he/they will score political points because of it.
