Hitler never said he would gas the Jews. Hitler said he would "take care of the Jewish problem". The end result was the gassing of the Jews (and others) in the concentration camps by his Nazi followers. Remember this next time a politician states they will "take care of a problem" (e.g. Trump or DeSantis stating they will "take care of the Mexican problem").
The worst case for the GOP is if Liz Cheney runs for President in 2024 as an Independent by splitting the vote...it could ensure a Democratic victory regardless of who is running for the Democrats in 2024. Rumor (the odds increased) after Liz Cheney speech last night while losing with only 30% of the vote in...she stated that Abraham Lincoln lost his senate race and then went on to greater accomplishments. Regardless, many believe it was her role in voting to impeach Trump and her role on the January 6th Committee that solely doomed her. I saw it a little differently, she was so consumed with her obligations on the January 6th Committee and to sacrifice her GOP seat that she made a choice to not campaign as much as her opponent Harriet Hageman so that she can do whatever it takes to prevent Trump from becoming President again. She was devoted to the cause to prevent Trump from running again. Now she will have the time to prepare for 2024 and become a pain in the ass for the Trump following GOP although I'm not sure if its a good or bad thing for the Democrats if she runs as an independent. wrbtrader
Is this the equivalent of a trader losing half their account then increasing size because they're "getting better"
drawing an analogy of Hitler gassing jews to what Cheney could propose is indeed a false equivalence. Using hyperbole to point out how voting for bad policy because it's 'honest' is not a false equivalence.
in case it wasn't obvious, that's the intent of this thread, Cheney running as an independent. No way she'd get a GQP nomination.
Dems control White House,House and Senate and abortion is banned in around half the country, republican voter suppression laws still stand, medicare option for all isn't even a discussion,Trumps tax cuts still in effect, min wage still at 7.25,no student loan forgiveness, giving billions more to abusive police with no reforms,No changes to The GOP Supreme Court etc. This is why GOP bad policy is no longer an issue imo because its the same with moderate democrats in charge.
