That's useless info. will go one further to support your thesis and say that they listed Apex as one of their clearing firm for over 2 years. That does not indicate pulling out of the brokerage business to me. Most likely, people did not see a need to go with Apex because they demand 250, 000 for margin accounts as opposed to 125,000 for IBKR.
As far as I know Livevol has deals with IB, APEX and Lek. When I last inquired, APEX had a 265k minimum. If I had the cash, I would switch to them. They also offer DMA.
Thanks for chiming in, ferry. Your a better SME than I am. However, let me plug a new thread I started for Tradier Brokerage under the retail firms forum. Guys here will already be in the right mindset. The broker has competitive pricing and could get esignal with some other algo platform at a discount. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?t=284178 Now, back to Livevol X discussions...
If any of you are in San Fran... there has been running a weekly MeetUp meeting about options trading on Tuesday nights. (This was new to me, so I'm sharing.) http://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Options-Traders/ They're also pretty happy to give people a demo of LiveVol - just make an appointment.
On previous page I posted screenshot of commissions http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showpost.php?p=3978207&postcount=56 Well I'm happy to report that the one change fee I got dinged with for 3$ was refunded to me at the end of the month. There is some kind of execution credit which builds up to remove order change costs. The monthly reports don't really give a history that I've been able to see... Along with commission charges I can't really explain, but I'm happy they're so cheap... it does kinda seem the whole process is intentionally difficult to figure out. /ponder
