They are working on it. We expect something by end of May. However, trading, position info and analytics will only be on the TWS side. Watching FOP orderflow would have been awesome. I will keep you guys posted.
Did Livevol give you a specific time-frame for futures? Have you heard of any other upgrades, or new features coming out? I have been using LVX since last March.
Neither here nor there, but I was reading some old LiveVol comments and someone mentioned or name-dropped a "Kat" or "Kate" at LiveVol. Looked her up on their website, and she's the big cheese; used to be with Timber Hill/IB. http://www.livevol.com/management-staff
They are still going thru regulatory approval which is going thru some delays. As mentioned before, Futures will only be through TWS. My A.M is definitely not selling me vaporware. I hope I don't get him in trouble for posting this. Other products within the IBKR suite is much further down the road which we would be prudent not hold our collective breaths.
Wait...what? So Livevol is NOT going to offer futures execution but rather an add on software plugin for IB users? How does this benefit existing livevol securities customers who now have to segregate funds? Maybe I misunderstood you.
They are going thru regulatory approval and that Futures trades will be managed via TWS is all I know. They are not going to offer a plug-in. Livevol is simply a front-end as it is. They will simply unlock the READ-ONLY status which we currently have on TWS. Whether they are going to segregate funds into a sub-account is another matter I could ask when they get approval. However, even when trading under sub accounts, do you not enjoy aggregated margin treatment? You tell me. I have never traded direct with IBKR.
As far as I know, LiveVol give up the brokerage business independently and brings there old and new clients to IB. Then IB provides some revenues to LiveVOl for those clients.
That doesn't seem to be in line with the product evolution as I've seen in their press releases. They have consistently added value to their offerings from data, analytics, research application and then finally an introducing broker relationship with IBKR for their own branded securities execution platform. Placetrade is a similar IB that uses IBKR. I am starting to feel like a shill. Seriously, my selfish side would rather keep this platform to myself. If anything I say doesn't feel kosher. Feel free to PM me, I will reply promptly.
Check their Finra broker check http://brokercheck.finra.org/Firm/FirmSummary.aspx?SearchGroup=Firm&FirmKey=23670&BrokerKey=-1 They have commission sharing agreements with a few broker dealers but only introduce to IB.
