Bought a dell inspiron 1100 about 2 years ago, the lcd went out after 6 months but it was under warranty and it was fixed in returned to me in 5 business days. Have had zero problems since then.
Found 15,000 rpm drives but only from Fujitsu, Hitachi, and Seagate. Not finding much in the way of IBM. This is the only HD I've found so far. Product Info 32P0799 IBM Hard Drive ULTRA320 NON-SWAP SCSI 300GB 10000RPM, NEW RETAIL.IN STOCK. $875.00 http://www.computergiants.com/items/one_item.asp?part=82518&cat=5&subsubcat=2442
So what the heck...what is his agenda? This is a frustrating thread...and the other thread is too....Can I call the IRS and make any sense of this? At least refer us to a Tax court case#
I am again posting this question directly to takenoprisoners. Are you saying you did this...got audited....and lost... you had this happen to YOU....Just recently...I am sorry to be such an idiot...I simply think there is more to it.... I wanted to trade frequently (3 to 6 trades a day) the indexes TAX FREE in the ROTH. NO WAY! Like I said it is an illusion. You'll wind up paying in excess of 40% when they get done with you.
That sounds like a lot of money for the IBM. I think I paid maybe $200 a couple years ago for a genuine 10,000 rpm SCCI IBM. Why do you need 300GB? My trading computers are only 8-12 GB and are half empty even with windows 2000 Pro and a lot of other software. I only paid $50 brand new. I got Fujitsu and Hitachi confused. It IS Hitachi who bought IBM hard drive business (regular hard drives). Lowered the warranty to one year immediately from 3 years. That's how much confidence they have in their reliability. Also, if your Hitachi/IBM fails they recondition it or give someone else's reconditioned unit. That sucks too.
I don't need 300 gigs. That was the only IBM I found. The cheapest 10K rpm HD newegg.com has is a Western Digital 36.7 GB serial ATA 150 for $101. They also have Fufitsu 36.7GB SCSI Ultra320 68pin and 80pin for $120. I figure it's probably worth the exta $19 for the SCSI over the ATA. Hitachi starts at about $180 and Seagate around $290
