The fascist has spoken.. if your attention span is limited to One sentence or less Just read single sentence posts
He has got a point there Vic. That was a long cut and paste. Even if I decide not to read it I have to scroll through it to get to the next post. How difficult would it be to put quotes around something you cut and paste? Make everyones life a little easier.
I didn't create the post on this thread. He picked it from the the thread I created only to complain about its length in this thread! don't read my thread if your attention span is limited to 2 sentences! It's actually a pain to post entire articles (the website isn't very user friendly) but I do it because sometimes they are behind paywalls, or because it's easier to read and contribute to the article than it is to open it on a different tab. And I'm wary of clicking on links.
Then they will split the big post in several smaller ones. You will still have to scroll, and additionally first check if the next post is still about the same article or not. So taking more time.
Long articles would be easier to read if surrounded by QUOTE tags because the article is not expanded until you select it. And refreshing the page compacts the quote again if desired.
How much extra pain is involved putting the pasted article in quotes? Anyone who is interest can click on expand and read the article if they are so inclined. Those not interested can move quickly to the next post. I'm interested in what you have to say, not in some article you have read.
That would be a violation of TOS and could be reported and dealt with. It's very unwieldy to have these extra length postings especially when they are not original thought.
Ok, wasn't aware that putting the article in quotes would resolve the length issue. Will do that in the future. He only needed to explain this instead of getting on his soap box.
Unfortunately, without the limitation of characters per posting, others will not do that and the flooding will continue. Thank you for using the quote feature going forth.
