It is a designation in the market maker box (trading window) in the lightspeed system. The tiers show up as NY, N, AM, and SM.
Please provide a symbol where the exchange is SM. Tiers are for order size, not the exchange or market cap. N1 means 100 shares.
OK, I put in a NSDQ stock, REKR and added 600 to the tier, and it says Tier SM6. I will look to see if REKR comes up later in the Ticker Alert and ask what the SM means.
Symbol MARK or COSM are tier SM stocks. I watched MARK make multiple new lows after hours last night without ever showing up as a new low on either the ticker alert (programmed for new highs and lows) or the Light scan. It should also be noted that the Order Imbalance window also doesn't have tier SM stocks in it. That means while people on other systems can get an idea where an opening cross is likely to occur in these stocks, Lighspeed traders can only guess where the cross might occur. This is obviously a system flaw that must be fixed.
I added that symbol to have less noise. Check you filters to scan for everything and do not use what I checked under Include.
REKR will show up in the ticker alert if you program it in as a symbol. It will not show up as just making a new high or low without adding it as a symbol. If you watch the new highs and lows in the ticker alert you will not see a tier SM stock cross.
Exchange codes. NYSE, NSDQ Amex , SM is Small Cap, I removed all the symbols. It does look like SM stocks do not populate in the Ticket alert unless you "include" that symbol. I will report that to the developers.
