Life span of a Desktop PC

    This is an interesting point, wouldn't it be just awesome to no longer have to rely on fans anymore? Or at least fewer of them in the case to cause annoying noise issues?

    Problem is 2 TB SSD drive is 650-800 bucks right now, so probably years away in availability

    Ha.

    Well, my tolerance for fan noise is very low. An absolutely silent PC sounds so good to me.

    I always thought capacitor life was the limiting factor on PC life (but recap boards possible,

    I understood 3 year life for fluid capacitors and 7 years for polymer/Aluminium? That said I have 20 year old electrical stuff still working

    My PC for example is like 11 years old already but this year I will definitely will upgrade it no matter what. How do you plan to go with that ? It do not support anything like SSE 4.2 or Vulkan API or something like SSD not present and so on and so on.
