That CNBC story is hilarious! Invested the money he made in bodybuilding in the 70's LOL There was no $$$ in bodybuilding in the 70's or even now, unless you're the promoter. There were other ways a bodybuilder could have made money back then, but let's be real, he said he invested 100K downstroke, from where? His "friend" Paco?
This I don't know. And I had to look up the name. I read that that sort of thing went on in the BB world, but I didn't think Schwarzenegger was caught up in it. I do remember reading several years ago that Weider supposedly provided Arnold with some guidance on RE investing, and I just figured it was with whatever money he had accumulated, perhaps not so much from BB contests back then but from appearances or some product endorsements. Not that Weider likely paid BBers much to endorse his wares.
Whatever man. Denying homoerotica in BB is like denying there are neo nazis in the military. It's futile to argue.
Here's a different version of events, Arnie's own: Not Movies, Arnold Schwarzenegger Made His First Million by Conning Wealthy Californians: “European bricklayers and masonry experts” https://fandomwire.com/not-movies-a...ans-european-bricklayers-and-masonry-experts/ Actor and former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has showcased his expertise in multiple fields. The actor, who is popular for starring in The Terminator and The Expendables franchise, has showcased incredible and outstanding performances on the silver screen. However, his expertise is not limited to the big screen only. Apart from being one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, he is known for winning several bodybuilding championships as well as being a good businessman. The actor has shared that he grew up in poverty, and while he is making millions with his Hollywood career, it wasn’t acting that earned him his first million. Schwarzenegger used his business mind to become a millionaire years before he entered Hollywood. How Did Arnold Schwarzenegger Become a Millionaire? Along with a flourished acting career in Hollywood, Arnold Schwarzenegger has enjoyed a very successful business career as well. When he moved to the United States at the age of 21, he started putting his mind and efforts into making investments. And after finding out that his fellow bodybuilder Franco Columbu was a skilled bricklayer, he came up with a The Terminator star registered a bricklaying business with his fellow bodybuilder. And they were able to make profits due to their marketing techniques and the increased demand. They advertised their business in Los Angeles Times as “European bricklayers and masonry experts.” The pair also started charging wealthy Californians high prices, and the actor has also shared that they made plenty of money with this business. He slowly developed more ventures of his business and turned his attention to real estate, which made him a millionaire. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bricklaying business “I quickly developed and traded up my buildings and bought more apartment buildings and office buildings on Main Street down in Santa Monica and so on,” he shared, before adding, “I became a millionaire from my real estate investments.” The actor was already a millionaire by the age of 25 years old. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Business Supported His Acting Career Arnold Schwarzenegger has shared that he did not have a plan B when he thought about pursuing an acting career in Hollywood. But he took things slowly to make sure that things did not fall apart as he pursued his dream in Hollywood. He continued working in real estate as he tried to make a break in movies. His business ventures supported him financially before he gained a profitable role in Hollywood. “I was making money from real estate, and that gave me the power to wait for the roles I wanted,” The Predator star shared. He also shared that this is the reason he never believed in people who advise others to quit their jobs and follow their passion. “You need money, and if you quit your job, you’re going to have to make decisions you wouldn’t make otherwise in order to make money.” He shared that found the role he had been waiting for in the action-adventure movie Conan the Barbarian.
I don't know about the part where he bought both apartment buildings and office buildings stemming from his masonry business. And all this before he was 25 and, according to him, while he was practically living in the gym based on his stated workout regimen. But, whatever.
And why does it matter? Why the obsession over how he first made money? Sounds like some are jealous of his success and need to discredit him and his achievements. Arnold was and continues to represent the sane voice of the Republican party, a mix of social liberal and fiscal conservative. Democrats hated him because he could bridge the divide at a time when it was possible and succeeded becoming governor of California. Looking at who's running on the Republican side in the coming presidential race is a testament of how low the Republican party has dropped in just 15 years.
