    Nope.

Belly fat really isn't a big issue, just looking to get lighter but not at the expense of giving up the iron.

Aren't you like 75yo? Shouldn't you be eating tapioca and watching OANN?

Since you're a Citadel alumn (sic)... what did you think of their corp-gym?

  7. So when you focus on lifting, your weight goes up? Is it LBM, and, if so, why complain?

BMI should be under 23ish. I don’t think he’s complaining just asking for advise.

  9. I agree, and "complain" was a poor choice of words on my part. But he said that (belly) fat isn't really an issue. So I'm genuinely not quite following the thread.

That's because when you're on the elliptical, or doing rope pulls, or running around the neighborhood you're training for endurance, meaning that your lungs are going to be way more active for a longer period of time than they are when weight training. (Remember: Fat is oxidized or "burned" through heavy breathing.) Conversely, training with weights in the traditional sense means that you're not training for endurance, but rather for hypertrophy (muscle building), so it would make sense that you would lose weight (both fat and muscle) through endurance training, but you would maintain or even gain weight through resistance training.
