Nah, to be completely honest I wasn't alive in the 70s. I do know that NYC was supposed to have experienced a "renaissance" during the mid to late 80's due to the Wall Street boom/Merger mania/"greed is good" era, which is when my first memories of NYC were formed. So maybe that's the reason for my more aesthetically pleasing perception.
