I looked at freebie replacements for Micro$oft Office a few times in the past and decided that there would never be enough motivation for any group of people to produce real competition for it for free.. but I dl'd LiberOffice 3.3 recently and started using it for word processing.. it seems fine, imports Office documents and all that good stuff... there could be bugs in the spreadsheet part of the suite but it's open sourced and quite possibly they can turn around bug reports quickly enough to bring it up to where professionals might rely on it.. Pretty interesting development... it runs on all common platforms so that might open up Linux for the business world..

Windows is just awful when networked, it's not designed for networking in the first place and it can never be secure really.. Windows is designed to be administrated by highly trained and dedicated IT people. Quite possibly a form of Linux and LibreOffice could shove it off the back edge of the business world by requiring way less administration with way better security...
