I understand this fire was caused from a bad wheel bearing that overheated.
The braking system did not contribute to this accident

 

If they hadn't slashed their workforce 30% maybe a worker would have noticed the bad wheel bearing.Capitalism and deregulation at its finest.

 

Maybe not...
Could be the Government that regulates this didn't properly do its inspection...

 

I don't think its the governments job to provide maintenance and repairs to private company trains
