I'm pretty sure the Conservatives could have never won a majority of the popular vote. The Liberals won basically, because a lot of NDP/Greens/Bloc voters shifted their votes to them. If Canada ever went to rank choice it would be a blowout in favor of the Liberals. The Conservatives win a lot of districts in BC in particular, because the NDP spoils it for the Liberals.
Bloc voters went to the Liberals basically, because they are the most anti-Trump. That made them more anti-USA/anti-PP than anti-Canada in this election.
