The argument that Iraq diverted resources - troops and materiel - from Afghanistan is probably not the case. There is a limit to how much the US can effectively use in search and destroy operations for Al Queda in Afghanistan. THe operations in Afghanistan have now driven out the Tasliban and removed state sanctary for bin Laden. In any event, there is a global Islamic 'jihad' and killing and capturing bin Laden and his top leuitenants won't seriously disrupt this. Militant Islam is a virus. You have to kill the bug and innoculate the uninfected. All the Europeans states should be relentlessly pursuing Islamic militants. There are probably 20 different Islamic resistance groups operating in Iraq right now, according to jihadunspun.com

Poor you. Self loathing is a terrible thing. It's already been up there for quite some time. The perpetrator(s) may well have been Americans, and you can in no way call the anthrax "attack" a large-scale terrorist operation. If indeed al Qaeda was behind it, then we should rejoice in their apparent weakness. So now the American people are at fault for somehow, someway, coming to the conclusion that some Islamic terrorists want to kill them, and planning accordingly? Gee, I wonder how they got that idea?!? I don't know what planet you're living on, but by and large the American public has been extremely resilient and to the greatest extent going on about their normal lives.
