"The first modern socialists were early 19th century Western European social critics. In this period, socialism emerged from a diverse array of doctrines and social experiments associated primarily with British and French thinkers—especially Robert Owen, Charles Fourier, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, Louis Blanc, and Saint-Simon. These social critics criticised the excesses of poverty and inequality of the Industrial Revolution, and advocated reforms such as the egalitarian distribution of wealth and the transformation of society into small communities in which private property was to be abolished. Outlining principles for the reorganization of society along collectivist lines, Saint-Simon and Owen sought to build socialism on the foundations of planned, utopian communities."

Straight from the article. Its not about what the term has come to mean in modern day politics but what it literally means. Again communism is a form of socialism. True socialism has never been achieved not true communism.

And some people just hate the world. This may be a lame topic in your opinion but all that means is you don't have to read or respond to it. The mere fact that you replied implies the poster caught your attention.

I mean honestly it doesn't matter what section it is listed under it doesn't deserve an ignorant response like that. Regardless of what its listed as you would have seen it on the front page anyways. My question was why you felt like you had to let everyone know you hated it.

  7. I think that the term "conservative" is an inherently good one. However, the group with whom the term is often associated is the Right Wing, which, collectively, is perhaps best described somewhat less pleasantly. And so, to answer the thread's question, the Right Wing is never wrong. Therefore, they will pass on their ongoing "paper losses" to their children. :p
