The phrase suggests "OK, I'm being honest for this moment. Yes everything else out from my mouth before and after this next thing are pure B.S. I am full of crap majority of the time, but please pay attention to me anyway!"

Habitual liars evolving to attention whores. Anyone else annoyed, too?

Oh right, and there're those who simply don't seem to get the difference between being "frank" and "honest".

  2. To be honest, all generalizations are bad

PS - Somebody had to say it :D

 I haven't posted much at all lately, save for that "jump out the window" thing. Though they're written throughout the past two years or so, it's quite a negatively skewed distribution (the timing of the posts that is).

  6. Starting a sentence with "to tell you the truth" is a red flag too.
