Like dealing with some of the idiots on here. Since Trump got elected, they lost all sense of what they are capable of discussing in a sensible fashion. Just flapping their gums assuming an election suddenly made them relevant on all these topics.

Tariff is a losing game. You seem to emulate the 1930s which was the Great Depression ending in a world war. Canada has $155B in tariffs ready to roll immediately. We are done with concessions let the war begin. Trump fancies himself as a bully and frankly the best strategy to deal with a bully is hit back at them. He's lied nonstop about things, coerced concessions then reneged on his part of any deal. Fuck him and fuck you.

No self control? Where is that Canadian stoic look? You appear emotionally distraught over Trump. Are you?

155B. Well according to previous arguments on ET by people like you that will only hurt Canada as THEY will be the ones paying it. Not USA. You guys got enough money to play tariffs? Maybe look in your piggy banks??

Yes, we have deeper pockets then some of you understand. Debt to GDP for example is higher in the US than Canada. Didn't used to be but you guys had to deal with that bank crisis in 2008. Here's the thing. While the US may technically be able to weather an economic storm more than Canada, in reality you can't. Americans aren't very good dealing with economic distress. Because of your wealth gap and lack of social safety net too many Americans will be devastated by a prolonged trade war. Just look at 2008/2009 and the bankruptcies, foreclosures, and poverty levels. And the Republicans would be destroyed politically by such an event. In Canada, not nearly as much. Our main three parties are similar in nature on most policies, and our social safety net while not perfect blows away the US one.

And let's stop with the poor, poor Canada bs. Canada remains one of the richest nations on the planet, with one of the strongest infrastructures. We'll get through this no problem we are a resilient group. A large part of the US has a lower standard of living than Canada.
