I never claimed to be an expert on anything but I find it curious how you talk about Christians with one of the most unchristian attitude and lifestyle. Just sounds funny you talking about Christians...

It stops 80% criminals in most other countries that have strict gun laws. Less killings, and less violence, less crimes. Why do you think the crime statistics in most developed nations outside the US look way better? Are non Americans better human beings? I doubt it.

Those countries you mention don't have hundreds of millions of guns already in circulation. In fact, the US has approximately 3-4 million illegally owned firearms on the street. Even if you somehow magically waved a wand to reclaim the 3 or 4 hundred million legally owned firearms from their owners, you'd still have more weapons in circulation than any country on the planet.

Gun control won't work here. Regardless of whether you support it or not.

  5. So the bigger the problem, the more it should be left unaddressed?

  6. I read the Aussies took about 600,000 guns out of circulation. America has 500 TIMES that, if not more. That's a GOOD thing!

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.
When the government fears the people, there is freedom.

Just as the Founders envisioned... well, that part of it anyway.

So which of my posts do you believe reflect an unchristian attitude and lifestyle, is it the posts...
    - Opposing Donald Trump as President?
    - or the posts outlining how the Republican legislature turned Kansas into a wreck?
    - or is it the posts supporting K-12 educators?
    - or it it the posts urging people to be civil and polite to one another?

I have just went back and reviewed your posts, not merely are they uncharitable but many are deliberately insulting to others. Allow me to make a prediction, your posts are so demeaning and uncharitable that your ban will be arriving shortly.

none of your cited reasons. I simply inquired because you made some curious comments re Christianity a while ago. Sorry if I tripped some wires

P.S. I was under the assumption Politics and Chit chat is unmoderated. Oh no, do I have to be afraid to now get booted off the command room? And sorry that I was not more charitable to you, I was not aware that this is what you are here for.

You are mixing up an analysis of the causes of the many dead due to gun violence in the US with potential solutions. I never suggested nor find a total ban on firearms even worth a debate. I believe one of the better solutions to tackle this particular problem (=gun violence in the US) is better training of potential gun owners and better background checks.

There is nothing even remotely offensive in your posts. Manipulation and intimidation is part of many psychological ploys of what happens online. Let me put it to you another way, many people on ET know my face and know my name. I state what I believe in no matter what. And I mean no matter what (I have had some very strange happenings in my real life after certain posts on ET that I made. I don't let on that I know, but I know.) It is impossible to intimidate me, even in real life, let alone online. But people try, even after 16 years here.

Know where you stand, then stand there. If that gets you booted, so be it. If that is the end result of giving your .02, it was not worth being there anyway.
