Come on, as if any logic that might go against your gun addiction would ever be persuasive. You would shoot the head of the NRA between the eyes if he asked you to put down your weapons.

  2. I know this is hard for you as a foreigner to understand, but we have a Constitution and it gives us the right to keep and bear arms. It was clearly intended to protect the right to keep the sort of weapons that would be useful in a military conflict and not for target shooting or hunting only. To suggest that we have to somehow justify our desire to own a firearm puts the cart way before the horse. The government has to justify any restriction on our right, and part of that is demonstrating that doing so is the least restrictive means of accomplishing the goal.

Our leaders have created this terrorist problem by a suicidal and foolish immigration policy dating back decades. Now incredibly, when the FBI is justifying its failures by saying they lack the resources to track all these ticking time bombs, our leaders want to bring in tens of thousands more potential terrorists. And restrict our access to the best self defense weapons.

That is not a logical approach, and it is why Trump is so popular.

Every definition I have ever seen of the word assault has defense nowhere near its meaning. A handgun will protect you from 99.9999% of any conflict inside your house. Outside your house, I challenge you as a civilian to go around in public carrying an assault rifle for "defense". It is just pure nonsense.

For the civilian, assault rifles are 90% offensive and 10% defensive. And even in the defensive case, you are probably better off with a handgun - unless you are at war.

There is just one minor detail you need to consider. The AR-15 is not an assault rifle. The M16 is an assault rifle.

I understand that. A typical glock can handle say 17 rounds. An AR-15 not modified to be a full automatic weapon, is theorized as being able to fire 800 rounds per minute. I don't believe this BTW, simply because that means you would have to be pressing the trigger at 13 times a second for a minute, and that is not even changing magazines. No way.

I strongly recommend the following thread:

    https://www.quora.com/How-many-rounds-does-a-semi-automatic-rifle-fire-per-minute

But do I believe 300 rounds a minute? Sure easily. And with magazines that are upwards of fifty rounds and changeable in a few seconds and getting bigger all the time, we are going to see 300 people packed together in proximity to each other like canned tuna in a public venue, we are going to be massacred one day by these things. It's just a matter of time.

The AR-15 (or any semi-automatic rifle) is not a defensive weapon. It is a weapon that has one foot in war and has no business being part of anyone's second amendment "right".

  8. I am reminded of the adage that it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I will respectfully suggest that you know zero about firearms or home defense.

I am amazed that so many are willing to go after the guns instead of the terrorist importation problem.

I really can not believe that people have such poor critical thinking skills or are so dishonest.

The problem is potential terrorists being allowed into the country and their first generation of children. If they did not have guns they would use bombs and suicide vests.

Can't people look around the world and think critically or clearly?
Do they have to buy what their govt officials are telling them hook line and sinker?
