As you asked in the post previous to this one, "what would you propose to prevent the kind of damage this guy has done"? Well, for starters we might say that if a guy is shouting at the top of his lungs kill all the infidels, Allah Akbar, associating with known terrorists, gets questioned by the FBI not once, but twice for such activities, it might be prudent to put that guy on a list that would identify him as a potential terrorist. Of course the PC "fundamentalists" would claim that to be profiling, so we have a problem with more than just the NRA and the stooges in congress.

and then? He is on a list, then what? You want to hire government employees so each one can monitor 24/7 any and all people on some lists of the FBI? Then the first thing you need to do is to raise taxes by a few percentage points to finance that.

Goodness, can we actually debate serious solutions and options? So far none of the conservative knuckleheads provided a single idea that makes sense....

 

You're not getting it. There is no "PC" here. The law, as it presently exists, does not preclude such people from gun ownership. Go ahead and ask the NRA about the slippery slope thing and how it's all for the greater good. And then ask its toadies in Congress to parrot the same stock phrases. Bottom line: he did not have a criminal record; he was not legally deemed mentally unfit. Case closed, thanks to the law of the land as sponsored by the lovelies at the NRA.

I am all for banning assault rifles in average Joe's hands, indeed. It does not and never belonged there. Most of the damage at school shootings and other mass killings has been aided by assault rifles and other weaponry that belongs banned. I have not the slightest inkling how someone who proclaims to love his country and its people can be so thickheaded to sell out his soul to the NRA.
