LG 34in monitor keeps stuttering

  1. I got this lovely LG curved monitor recently and it works fine on regular static websites or non-moving graphics such as Excel/Powerpoint/TWS. But it keeps stuttering when I watch xvideos or sometimes even Youtube. By stuttering, I mean it is working fine and then goes dark (as if turned off) for a second and then goes back on.

I changed the HDMI twice (branded one) and used the monitor on two desktops (both mid-range Dell) and set resolution to 3440 x 1440 as recommended. I am not using it on gaming or anything fast moving. The display driver used is generic PnP monitor, but I can't find a more appropriate driver on LG website.

    Any idea?

Update all drivers and firmware on PC and monitor.

  3. Get a MacBookPro ...I have used Samsung, LG, Viewsonic, etc monitors....but Apple is truly a better, clearer, crisper, vibrant product.
It took me a really long time to finally admit Apple is better beccause I have always been a devout Windows 98, Windows XP, guy.

I concur with ZBZB. You gotta' get rid of that generic driver.

  7. Just a suggestion: it could be an overheating problem. If the power supply inside the monitor gets too hot it may temporarily switch off for it to cool down. Make sure that there is sufficient airflow around the monitor.

  8. I downloaded the Ultrawide WQHD Windows file.

What does this mean? It installs the LG driver onto Generic PnP Monitor driver? I installed it but Device Manager is still showing Generic PnP as the monitor driver and I don't see anything has changed. Stuttering still occurs.

Likely a faulty monitor. Sounds like you should contact warranty ASAP or plan for a new one.

Other monitor manufacturers also make HiRes monitors, you just never bought them. LG makes current Apple monitors.
