I continue to be mystified by this. At the very minimum, the Clinton campaign committed obvious campaign finance violations by running this dirty tricks op through a law firm. The campaign, the law firm and Fusion GPS should have all been prosecuted by now. The law firm, which happens to be Bill Gates' father's old firm, should have been given the Cohen treatment, ie raided with armed agents hauling off every file and computer they could find. Send a message.
Don’t worry buddy, we’ve been repeatedly assured with every new AG and FBI Director appointed by Trump that Clinton would be investigated and go down. The third times a charm. You sit tight and keep the faith. You have to just believe in Santa Claus, I mean Bill Barr. It’s so important you believe, Virginia.
We have a two tiered system of justice right now. One for the Democrat elites who are not held accountable for anything they do! Another one for Republicans and Conservatives where they are investigated for the flimsiest of reasons and charged and made to pay a heavy price each time. The salaries of these public officials in the FBI and DOJ and judges are paid for by Americans who are Democrats, Republicans and Independents yet, they apply a biased, one sided justice on their perceived political enemies (Republicans and Conservatives), using the vast government resources to do so! Then, look the other way when a Democrat elite is caught violating the law!
So your opinion is that there is nothing illegal or even unethical about a presidential campaign using a law firm as a conduit to pay for oppo research using foreign government sources, which is then funneled to the media and FBI?
Your claim of illegality is based on speculation and conjecture, and not rooted in the law. As to using registered foreign agents in an American election being unethical, you may have a point I would entertain at another point in time. Currently, we still need to figure out what’s what with Trump and the help he got from the Russians and the payoffs in sanctions relief.
In addition there is a campaign finance reporting violation there wherein the Hillary campaign just reported the cost of the whole operation by reporting it in aggregate under "legal expenses" just because she laundered it through her law firm. She did that so that she could allege attorney client privilege if her actions were examined. As Cohen and Trump both found out the assertion of attorney client privilege is not watertight and guaranteed if the attorney was a participant in the scheme/s. All of that needs to be investigated.
