Hi dave. This is Lightspeed TRader. I added two time and sale windows. I configured Time and Sale for only ARCA and Time and Sale2 for only NSDQ.
In the post-SOES world {tight BID-ASK, HFT, icebergs, dark pools}, I don't know as Level 2 is earning its keep. (MM identity-wise.)
Yep to tommcginnis post. Up to about 20 years ago, you could see who was on the levels on L2. When the tech crash hit in 2000, the bigs would send out their spokespersons to CNBC to proclaim how much the market was "oversold" and what a "bargain" stocks were at those prices. Meanwhile they were parked at the offer all day, everyday dumping inventory. Transparency began to look like a bad idea.
