Lets discuss techniques for smoothing MAs

  1. Best way to smooth price is by just using price.

However, if you need snakes in your charts to show you the way, well, that's fine but don't expect to be the first in line at the buffet.

  2. Maybe a Time Series Forecast will help?

Anyone ever try this technique or any opinions related to it? Just curious to see others' reactions.

    Good luck.

This reminds me of that old joke:

A cop walking a night beat comes across a man circling a lamppost and looking at the ground.

Beat cop: "What's going on, fella?"

Man: “I’m looking for my keys.”

Beat cop, after looking around the ground: "Sorry, I don't see your keys."

Man points to dark alley: “I lost them over there”.

Beat cop, slightly annoyed: “Then why are you looking for them all the way over here?”

Man: “Because the light is so much better here”.

If you want a silky smooth MA, use the T3 MA. It is tripled smoothed. You will also need to specify a modifier, and I suggest you use 0.62. You can do an internet search on it if you care about the details. I am sure many charting packages have this MA available. I use quotetracker, and it is in there.
