Let's check in on how that defund the police scam is coming along in Minneapolis

  1. In other words... the people of Minnesota did not vote to defund the police.... the article was extremely long to simply undercut its entire premise in one sentence no?

people marching in the streets with Defund the Police signs does not....you know...actually lead to defunding of the police...

Laughable assertion. You should read the article in-depth which directly ties the downward spiral of the city and rising violent crime to the defunding movement --- a movement where a vocal minority pushed local politicians to defund and undermine the police. The majority of the residents of Minneapolis suffered as a result -- and did not support defunding the police and voted to put an end to the defunding nonsense. Sadly it was too late -- the damage was done -- large numbers of police officers had already been either let go or left the Minneapolis police force --- and no one is stepping up to take their place.

Bottom Line: Defunding the Police directly leads to Rising Violent Crime.

  4. What is laughable sometimes is simply taking an article and making wild claims that anyone can shoot down with a minimal google search.

So according to GWB.. the people wanted to defund the police and the police were defunded.

According to FACTS the majority of people voted NOT to defund the police and the budget actually increased over the past 2-3 years.

    December 11, 2021
Mayor Jacob Frey and the City Council last week agreed to a $1.6 billion budget that includes just over $191 million for the Police Department (MPD), restoring its funding to nearly the level it held before George Floyd was killed in 2020.

    July 2022
The Minneapolis Police Department’s budget has expanded despite calls to reduce funding for law enforcement in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

The Star Tribune reported Saturday that the department currently has a $196 million budget, up about $3 million from the beginning of 2020.

This here is exactly why we cant discuss topics... people will make a claim over and over despite the fact that....well the facts, don't even support it.

I thought defund the police meant decreasing budgets and voting in favor of defunding the police.... well....explain why Minneopolis did the exact opposite.

pssst...... rather than admit being wrong the reply will be yeah but crime went up etc.... suddenly the defund the argument magically disappeared haha

Actually the police are defunded in two ways according to the activists:
    • First, direct budgetary defunding of the police by a government entity.
    • Second, making the jobs of police so miserable that many of them leave the force.
The local "defund the police" progressive politicians in Durham have been proudly bragging how successful they were in chasing police away from the police force hence they were successful in their objective of defunding the police.

And yes, the "defund the police" movement is directly responsible for the increase in crime in many cities where the number of officers have been reduced since the start of 2020.

you're the one that made it:

    and again:

Now, tell me how "making their lives miserable" isn't just con code for "holding them accountable in ways I disagree with"?

But keep up the mental gymnastics on how "defund the police" is anything you want it to be. We've already dismantled your CRT clown show.

The same facts apply to Minneapolis and many other cities where activists worked to defund the police and chase officers away from the profession. The end result is drastically rising violent crime rates. We have seen the same situation locally in cities like Durham and Asheville— so I will refer to them as well.
