You're a bit weak on your facts and understanding about Clapper's lie.

First, it was under oath before Congress.

Second, he was given the question 24 hours earlier and knew it would be asked.

Third, he could have declined to answer in a public hearing and offered to answer it in private or by letter. He did neither.

Clapper deserves to be in the slammer. This is about as close as one can get to meeting the criteria to spend a few years in jail for perjury.

This is very serious, I assure you. They put people in jail for just lying to agents of the FBI and other government agencies. Martha Stewart is an example. She was under pressure, could have declined to answer and wasn't even under oath. Clapper's discression is much, much more serious. As was Eric Holder's lie to Congress.

Snowden is a whistleblower who brought to the attention of the public a fact that nobody was aware of and should horrify everyone. That the NSA's analysts can listen in on anyone's calls anytime they want to, at their own discretion. As the rest of us recall, the gov't media complex immediately went into defense mode and called him a liar and that there needed to be FISA court approval.

And then Clapper was found to lie under oath to congress. Is there anyone stupid enough to think he would have admitted lying if all this with Snowden hadn't happened and he didn't think he would get caught? LOL

And what are the chances that he'll get prison time. As everyone knows, the answer is NONE. But, think back to Scooter Libby who DID do prison time on a nonsensical charge that he lied to a special prosecutor about a crime that he HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH.

Snowden is a hero and the entire govt and media are bald faced liars and the head of the NSA is a criminal liar.
