Think a blue wave is coming in the midterm election that will sweep out Republicans and usher in a Democratically-controlled Congress?

Don't bet on it, gamblers on at least one online betting site are saying.

The odds on MyBookie favor Republicans maintaining hold of their majority, even as political forecaster Nate Silver says there is an 84.9 percent chance of a Democratic victory.

As of Sunday, the odds of the GOP keeping the House are at -140. That means you would need to bet $140 on the Republicans to win $100 if they stay in the majority. The Democrats are at +110, meaning a $100 bet would win you $110 if the Democrats manage to wrest control of the House.

I can't believe there are still people who think Trump can win an election. What a mess the US is these days. All the usual talking points some people shower praise on concerning Trump have been skewered this year and he's still the same buffoon saying really stupid stuff in public.

The stock market is down, the economy is possibly in a recession, the health care system is still not fixed, too many people have precarious work and finances. The virus has not only highlighted and exasperated some issues but it's shown how truly fragile the US really was. Extremely high govt deficit and debt before the virus, trade wars just made this crisis worse then it needed to be.

Throw in the fact this crisis was not prepared for well by Trump at all and the impact will remain very close to the election he's done.
