Many or most of Trump's wounds tend to be self-inflicted, but not all. Trump may not have drained the swamp yet (although Comey, Rybicki, Baker, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Rosenstein, Ohr, (under investigation) are a start). But in fairness to Trump, he did not fully know during the campaign that most of his energy would be tied up in fending off a coup which damn near brought him down. He may not have lived up to the promise to drain the swamp but he sure as hell did hand to hand combat with it each and every day. We dont know how that story is going to end just yet. He has just survived this Mueller thing and then Congress is going to try to politically assassinate him too. Trump is trying to get to the point where independent counsels are appointed for the true russian conspirators/ie. hillary and the state intel agencies and to get Horowitz's report to begin building on it. But Congress is trying to either take him down or sap all his energy to keep him from doing that. We will see how that ends out. The armchair analysts might think he could have worked on surviving the coup and all the intel agencies working against him and still have made more progress on draining the swamp. Might be more difficult for the one who actually has to do it. Obama, Clapper, Rice and Brennan are still hoping that the drain-the-swamp effort can be contained because it is headed straight at them otherwise. Horowitz already has all the goods on the fbi/doj and it is just a matter of how he packages and proceeds with it. He is also well into the pants of State Department and connections to Obama etc. I am going to keep Trump on probation there for another six months. He has to get that impeachment thing off his arse too which will happen but it takes work and energy.
Mostly spot on. Trump has indeed exposed the left for all to see. He has also served as a road block at least slowing down the country from falling completely into the leftist abyss, something which frankly speaking seems inevitable. He is very beatable by the right candidate making the right moves. It's far too early for any solid prediction to be made. There is no doubt however that we're in for a real shit show when the campaign begins in earnest. Dems are already on record saying another four years of Trump is the end of the world as we know it, so all bets are off as to just how crazy they'll get next summer.
We are also into uncharted territory in some areas. I refer to the fact that - in an attempt to appease bernie supporters and unrig the system- the superdelegates cannot vote until the second ballot if there is not winner on the first. This rule change was a direct response to fact that Hillary had most of the superdelegates pledged before the campaign even began. But how does it play out now if you go to a brokered convention or one that is at risk of becoming brokered. ie no clear winner on first ballot? It used to be that all the supporters of the piddling third and fourth tier candidates wanted to have their vote for their candidate on the first vote and after meeting their pledge commitment they would then horse trade on the following ballots because they were then released from their pledge to the original candidate. But it is quite possible now that some of them will want to form coalitions before the first ballot so that you can reach the magic number - and prevent the superdelegates from kicking in on the second ballot. Guess what. I dont know. Neither does anyone here or any of the pundits. There are lots of intended and unintended consequences of the rule change that will be discovered along the way. Bernie and Biden are going to have two very large camps with delegates there and they are not going to easily pass votes to the other to reach a majority. Expect to see some serious catfights among the leftists broads. Don't underestimate them, they have a lot of pent up anger including the leftover anger from 2016 where Bernie got screwed. They will put Biden in a half nelson and take him down right on the floor. Not sayin that's a bad thing.
Trump is the swamp in that as all he cares about is money, power and image. The crazy AOC types got into office the same way Trump did, because people were tired of the same old same old. I don't believe they represent the majority of democrats (at least not yet). If someone could run on a platform of strong borders and single payer and get through, I think they would win in a landslide.
#derangeddonald is trending, Conway should have trademarked that shit and licensed it to one of the candidates….
I believe the false accusation against Kavanaugh should really strike home with many parents concerned for the social environment their children might be exposed as they go out into the world under Radical Leftist rule. Both political parties will continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Hopefully Trump will have a good run, like he did relatively speaking, leading up to the 2016 election. The Left seems to have more resources and “talent” in getting out the vote. The difference may come down to a credible investigation of Radical Left activities that are certain to have massive campaign violations, misallocation of public funds, and illegal payoffs. Influence peddling is another potential hot area. There are a lot of people, whether Conservative or not, whether a small business owner or CEO of a large corporation, or someone who just wants to practice their religion in peace will be adversly affected by a Radical Leftist takeover of our country. Most business owners have felt the extra taxes and fees imposed on them in the Obama administration and the increased regulatory burden as well as increased enforcement efforts for fines. All Christians should support Republicans because of near continual Radical Leftist promoting attacks on their religion, late term abortions, legallizing marijuana, and homosexuality. All of these Radical Left policies are in conflict with the Bible. Trump may not follow the bible, but saving one’s religion has much more value than sitting out the election because you have to vote for a devil. At least “our” devil is not trying to destroy religion or our country as we know it. The key is to get religious leaders to break the status quo and risk “fever pitched” media attacks by actively encouraging their members to vote, and to vote Republican. All business owners that can contribute to Republicans in some way, should. It could be money, volunteering, or taking the big risk and becoming outspoken and to tell their story about all the issues set upon them during the Obama Administration and how it affected their employees or hiring plans. The fact business owners have to be concerned about being outspoken should tell people about the political environment that has been created by the Democrats and Liberal media. Admittedly, the Republicans are not totally innocent in this area either. If there was ever a time to go all-in to defend the principles upon which this country was founded, it is now. Not tomorrow, not the next “good” President, it is now. Because once the Radical Leftist takeover is complete, our rights will be dimished to the point where we will never be able to vote the Radical Leftists out of office. Felons being allowed to vote, immgrants being offered free services and indoctrination into Democratic “philosophy” with voting rights, elimination of electotal colleges that will prevent non-coastal states from ever being represented by a US President again, and their support for no voter ID accountability means “game over” for our country as we know and love.
I'm going on the record here... I'll kiss your ass at the corner of Wall St. and Broadway... at lunchtime... on a Friday... and ring a bell... if Bernie becomes the nominee.
I almost want one of these crazy lefties just to swing the whole thing closer to center. Bernie is good natured plus old, so no dictatorship risk there
