Leslie Marshall: Biden's in for 2020 -- Here's why he'll make Trump a one-term president

  1. The alternative is not pretty either.

"My guy said he would not do anything about the border and he kept that promise so he is my man."

    Nope not for me.

I go with the one that at least tries and has that as a goal if it can be achieved. If Trump could get the support he still wants to do it, bigly. If the dems could waive their wand, they would just remove the border. See the difference? Okay, well work with it a little.

You’re triggered. But I will take this time to make a couple of points on Trump’s mismanagement of DHS because it probably is his biggest governing weakness:

    1. Trump had $25 billion on the table for border security. He turned it down.

    2. Trump has mismanaged DHS to the point they are the worst run agency in the cabinet. Almost all of its leadership is transitory.

    3. He has not prioritized criminal aliens and has directed ICE to go after established undocumented aliens. You may have noticed larger raids on businesses in the news. This has mucked up the courts because legally persons with established families are much harder to deport and take much longer to do so.

    4. This inefficiency in the court system has created an overpopulated detention system and migrants are now coming knowing they will be turned loose.

As to needing 60 senate seats, go ask tree about that. It was his stipulation, not mine.

I don’t see the difference. The only differences I see is Trump cannot compromise and take a win and Trump is totally screwing up the border, detention and court systems.

Democrats will compromise, they already have offered the compromise and democrats will run DHS more efficiently and effectively than Trump.

Also, Biden is a heavyweight. You may recall after the first debate Obama has with Romney, Obama got his clock cleaned and things were looking a little shaky. Biden stepped up in the next debate and made a strong case and recentered the campaign.

He certainly has the ability to make a strong case for himself and others on a National stage.

Pointing out a similar absurdity is not "triggered". I understand the confusion, because you probably think people tend to react like you would. But I assure you, you are the outlier.

You suggested that Trump would be a "wet noodle" because he wouldn't be able to pass any platform he wants to push because he would need 60 seats. I pointed out the exact same problem exists with several democrat's announced platforms.

    End of story.

  6. Please, we know that you are self-stimulating today over Biden and we allow room for that but let's not leave the solar system, okay?

Biden has run for president twice before and never got more than 1% in any primary, anywhere. So, how the hell this makes him a "heavyweight" who "certainly has the ability to make a strong case for himself on a national stage" would require a few sips of kool-aid for most people to see. What you mean to say is that Biden is a loser but compared to the other even worse losers running in the field he appears as a heavyweight.

Biden with Obama at the top of the ticket is another story, but he is flying on his own this time.

One of the attack dogs will bring up his son's Ukraine biz and wash Joe out of the picture.

  9. That's what the progressives are arguing. It is a different world and they dont want white-bread old boys club Biden. I suppose someone can argue that Biden has improved with age- that person would not be me. Usual Tard is up for it though.

Believe it or not in a lot of ways I wish Biden wasn’t running but he is and we have to take him for what he is. I think he makes it difficult for the left to move forward but I also am glad there is a strong traditional democrat in the race as well. So it’s net/net a wash for me.

What I will say is I would have no issues with Biden being the president. There will be progress made in many areas, even in areas you care about.

To your point, you make the case he never got more than 1% in a primary election and that is true but he also never polled as high as he is now. Not even close. He was never the front runner and today he is the front runner. He also was elected Vice President twice.

As to being a heavyweight, that is my term for someone with the characteristics of things like high name recognition and held high public office, large fundraising ability, etc.
