Leslie Marshall: Biden's in for 2020 -- Here's why he'll make Trump a one-term president

  1. The left wing of the party is still not mainstream if you go by who really has the power. AOC and Bernie get all the headlines but have no true power except to make troublesome noise. Pelosi, who actually has power is basically trying to push Bernie and AOC off to the side because she knows the far left is a minority not only in her own party but in the country and will not get anyone elected in 2020.

All the candidates who jump on the free education, reparations, wide open borders are going to get crushed worse than Hillary (via EC). Most of these 20 sound wonderful now in their separate town hall meetings but when you get most of them on the same stage for a debate in September it will be abundantly clear the unoriginality of the candidates squawking the same bullshit.

One will say "free college" and the rest have to say I agree and then make up a bullshit reason as to how their idea is different.

  2. There is talk here and on the street that people want a president who can restore a civil society. Okay, that point has merit but it works both ways depending on how the candidate plays their cards.

If you think open borders is leading us to a civil society, then Joe is your man or any of the other dems.

  3. The last dem nomination process ended with Bernie supporters chanting "lock her up."
Not good. Many of them probably went on to vote for Hillary anyway. Except "many" was not good enough.

Same thing this time around. There are lots of lefties who are not going to get what they want but you still need the bulk of them in the general election even though they are butt-hurt. Biden can do that, right?

Meanwhile, some of the moderate independents will gravitate over to Trump if Joe swings too far to the left to try to pick up the progressives. There are a lot of independents who will not follow the progressives over into the world of infanticide, reparations, voting for the boston bomber, etc. If Joe goes there, and he probably will, then it is el fucko for him when he wants their votes.

  4. There are only two ways Joe survives the dem primary process. One would be the same collusion that put Hillary over Bernie, and the other would be Joe goes hard left, panders his ass off to all the fringe lunatics, and picks a female for V.P.

  5. So... you'd vote for a Lefty who's hell-bent on destroying America (creepy one at that) rather than a somewhat "jerky" Trump (who appears to be trying to save us from the ultimate Lefty oppression) just because he offends your sensibilities a bit?

Personally, I prefer a Ron Paul. But unfortunately, America is not smart enough to elect him.

  6. If Joe mentions wanting to Abolish ICE then I will be rooting against him. As long as he does not do this I will not put him in the same group as Beto, Harris and the rest of the field.

Trump promised a Wall and he is not delivering on that. He should not get a second term if he cannot deliver on his primary campaign promise.

If Joe goes off the deep end then I will be right there voting against him. Until then, Joe is much better than voting in a Socialist. Which is a very real possibility. Tearing down Joe does not directly help Trump, it also helps Bernie.

I would prefer Ron Paul as well.

I don't believe Biden is hell-bent on destroying America like you believe he is. And not wanting to vote for Trump isn't merely because he offends my sensibilities. It is because he is also useless, flip flops constantly, accomplishes very little he promises and makes me embarrassed to be a member of a country with a leader who behaves as he does in public. Oh, and that little crap about the Fed pretty much cinched it for me.

  8. Hasn't Trump tried to get funding and cooperation for the wall? Congress has not gone along, so I don't think we can hold Trump solely responsible for this shortcoming.

Nonetheless... as Commander in Chief.... I would want him to recall 40,000 troops from the ME and station them on our southern border to seal off ALL illegals. He hasn't done that. Should have.

  9. Valid points all... except for his not being "hell-bent on destroying America". He's a Lefty DemoCrap. THAT'S THEIR AGENDA... regardless of their figurehead in the WH!

I know you genuinely believe that, and I respect that you do. I just don't feel as militant about it as you do. Would Biden be my first choice? No. But between the candidates on the left currently in play and Trump, he would be my preferred option.

This does not mean that I like Biden.
