One day, sweet merciful release, but not today.

Woke up a 4am actually and put myself on a drip.

I expect the church does not want to repeat the 1930s again. Trump has already shown disrespect to the office as first blood. I guess nobody really is sure how powerful the CC is anymore, but Trump got a taste of it with a backlash already.

The Church has a few times used the term Antichrist in an off the cuff sense against a few men in history. They were all massive narcissists :) Napoleon was the last labeled such, he did imprison a Pope*. We shall see how Trump rises to the occasion.

*amazingly, after being excommunicated he was still given permission to have last rights and such by the Church, narcissists never quit demanding.

Most of my close friends in the Chicago-area are Italians, Native Americans, and Asians as it was for everyone else in my family.

Today, my mom's best friends at the Catholic church she attends twice per week are similar but with more French Americans than Asian-Americans...not many Asians at her church who are Catholic. My sister husband is an Italian-American native of Chicago. My brother who's a doctor in South Dakota is married to his Notre Dame graduate school sweet heart...she's 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Native American...my youngest brother who lives in Kentucky as an EMT is now married to a woman who's 1/2 Native American and 1/2 French American...

All fluent bilingual speakers and strong believers of their shared cultures.

I've received a few texts from friends I grew up with as a teenager in the Chicago area who now live in the suburbs of Chicago. They went to schools like St. Rita, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy, St. Francis de Sales, and my first girlfriend (a friend still today) who attended Mother McAuley...they're sending me headlines like...

Da Pope or alter images of the Pope doing traditional Chicago things.

Today, I believe many of Chicago's Catholic schools have a much stronger Hispanic ethnicity student body in comparison to when I grew up with a stronger Italian / Native American ethnicity student body population.

The questions (sarcasm) now...will Pope Leo XIV now make Michael Jordan a Saint and is the rumor true that the new Pope hung out with friends at Al Capone's hideout in Hyde Park ???

Though I've only heard of it at a local level, he may say that confession is needed on a grave moral matter. Some US clergy went there over voting for abortion rights candidates in 2020. ICE agents could be barred from communion for materially or even formally cooperating with evil.

The more images like this of a sixteen year old girl being arrested by ICE the closer that gets.

Its intersting how Capone, who was the Pablo Escobar of his day, still has followers. Trump will too no doubt, all it seems to take is extreme boldness and faux Robin Hood displays to capture many.

Funny thing, a friend's family once owned The Clay hotel in South Beach which was controlled by Capone, they survived on the legend and Desi Arnez playing there too. . I spent a few nights in a room that still had a damaged looking door and lock from Crockett kicking it in during the first episodes of Miami Vice (maybe BS who knows) It's was renovated to a whole three stars and seems back to two now :) I hope the kept the door, I was told it has exceptionally long screws holding the lock in place despite the wood being gone on the inside.
