That comment was referring to the fact that we already pay for poor people health care as in when they visit the emergency room. It had nothing at all to do with tax neutrality. Of course this won't be tax neutral. We have a progressive income tax system so obvioulsy the more you earn the more you'll pay. If you don't like that idea: earn less money and see if that makes you happy. I'll repeat: taxes will need to go up to pay for this program. So what, instead of paying for private insurance or having your wages reduced because your employer pays for your insurance you will pay more in federal income taxes and get guaranteed coverage. Getting rid of the health insurance middle-men COULD mean less costs per capita and/or very little in tax increases. As far as those earning more having to pay more: this is something that you pay for and HOPE you won't need it until you are very old.
I got news for you, just because you are insulated from the cost of your health care: IT'S NOT FREE! When will you greedy cretins get that through your heads?
Insulated? Not free? How's that different for me? And after all, as many here believe, who else counts anyways?
Right, so all the BS you posted below is just a red herring diversion for your desire to get something for nothing and have your neighbors pay your bills. How "progressive " of you.
How about implementing Chinese style policies since we are clearly becoming a totalitarian society. On welfare and unmarried = 1 child max policy, over that penalties, not increases.
How about those not paying federal taxes lose the right to vote on the federal level? Of course "the fair tax" is a better option altogether and eliminates this need.
everybody needs some representation, otherwise its back to slavery times. i must say though, have to love how visionary Charles Rangel took care of subsidies business with US citizenship renounciation exit tax passed few years back.
put it on a ballot and u got my vote its better than the situation where welfare nation decides whats best for the country.
