legal/tax services for hedge funds?

  1. From a Chicago Perspective:

    If you need a mid-tier firm (right below the big 4, or whatever they are now) Altschuler, Melvoine and Glasser in Chicago do hedge fund accounting. They are a division of American Express Business services. Very reputable.

    Also, check out Nav Gupta, he will do accounting for a much lower fee. Does accounting for about 100 reputable hedge funds world wide from Naperville, IL.

    I've used both AM&G and NAV and they were both good.


    Also Michael Liccar and Associates in Chicago is reputable (used to be, and may still be William Eckhardt's accountant...his office is right next door to Eckhardt's):

    Chicago law firms for hedge funds:

    KMZ Rosenman - Wesley Nissen is the partner there. Very nice guy. Set up a fund for me. These guys can be pricey though. They do a lot of work with funds.

    Also,

    Gardner Carton Douglas - Fred White is the partner here you'll want to talk with. Very nice guy and less expensive than KMZ.
