  1. Okay, good.

When are they going to announce?

We have not seen them yet.

Say what? As you like to point out 5X/day.... Hillary won the popular vote. :wtf:

Help me out with this one though... if they all (the big names) stay in the race until the end... be it Warren, Booker, Harris, or whoever... how are the Dems going to know what the ticket will be? They have to vote for an individual first without knowing the hidden VP prize in the Cracker-Jack box.

I can't see them on the debate stage saying "If I win.... I'll select ('fill in the blank' standing at the podium next to me). Example... Pocahontas saying "I'll make Corey my running-mate if I win" with him on the same debate stage.

  4. Well voters do get cues and clues from the primary candidate along the way as to who/what kind of vp they will pick if elected even if it is not binding. Example, this time around , all of the men have been backed into saying that the will have a woman on the ticket so that narrows the field there. So you might end out thinking- for example- I wont vote for Joe alone but assuming he picks one of the two top women running, I could live with Joe at the top of the ballot if he picks one of the women who is not a loser, and yeh, you have to trust them at that point.

But it gets complicated too because if the votes are spread out over several candidates going into the convention and it cannot be resolved on the first or second ballot then all hell and horsetrading breaks out, where the block of votes for losing candidate may agree to the other candidate provided that x,y,z is on the ticket, and so on.

In reality they make some of this up as they go along, depending on what they feel they need to do or do not need to declare along the way. You will recall that last time around, Ted Cruz suddenly decided that he needed to declare that Carli Fiorina would be his running mate if he were the nominee. That was a last gasp attempt to stop Trump. Similarly, I can see one or more of the white guys suddenly declaring right before the Carolina and Georgia primaries that he will choose a woman of color if he is the nominee- if he is trailing behind and needs to try some bold move, as Cruz did.

But yeh, to your point, the vp is an unknown until known, and the best you can do is make them jump through hoops enough throughout the campaign assuring you that they will pick an X,Y,or Z if chosen- which most of them are doing. It sounds loosey goosey because it is. On the other hand, it also pretty specific. It is pretty clear that there will be a woman on the dem ticket and it is pretty clear that if the nominee is a white woman, the vp will be of color.

I gave the example of Cruz and Carly teaming up, but not to forget that Biden made a failed attempt just a couple months ago to get Stacy Abrams to agree to running as his VP which she rejected. As I said, they are making it up as they go along.

Since, I predicted Hillary Clinton as the nominee of the DNC, I would expect a woman at the bottom of the ticket as well! The reason being extra liberal feminists have gone out of their way to turn all the guys wimps. So, the only acceptable candidate to them outside, of Hillary Clinton is an extreme liberal progressive, maybe, Elizabeth Warren or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I favor Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because she would have to be in a debate and that would be utterly, hilarious and entertaining! Still love AOC-mini me because she is so lovable and smart!

  6. What about Beto?

Wouldn't he qualify as an extreme liberal woman if he were the running mate?

Although, he changed his name to Beto to appeal to Hispanics, he would not qualify because he is more white. His skin color would disqualify him under the white privilege label.

  8. Thanks for the reply. None of the resident life long Democrats here on this message board have a problem with saying that Trump will not be re-elected. But, no one wants to comment/take a guess at who will win the Democrat Nomination? Is it really that difficult?

Biden has huge lead in the polls and the lack of attacks from Kamala Harris are a signal that she is currently interviewing for the job of VP. This also signals that she also thinks Biden will get the nomination.

I understand the whole "I will support whoever is on the Democratic Ticket" thing, I am not trying to get you to say anything bad about the other candidates. I was just asking for a prediction.

I don't see anyone else having enough support to turn the convention into a shit show unless Bernie's supporters really get nuts.

  9. Beto is reinventing himself. He recently apologized for being a "giant asshole". He realizes that the flapping his arms around like a meth addict and giving speeches while standing on top of tables in coffee shops act is getting old.

Unfortunately, he doubled down on his illegal immigration stance and went beyond all of the other Open Border Democrats (I did not think that was possible).

His self-realization that he is a "giant asshole" is too late however. It is already over for Beta O'Dork. Mayor Buttguy stole his thunder.
