  3. You're right... The expert player does not analyze all the moves in the allotted time that would be impossible considering the probabilities! Even a computer would slow down significantly... The expert player does focus on a set strategy though and does analyze the moves with the highest statistical probabilities for success...!

Then there’s Magnus Carlsen who can do it all without set strategies or better yet strategies that he just makes up with his creative powers. It’s amazing how he sees the game. Hell, he doesn’t even use the opening theories and just plays by the seat of his pants so to speak! That’s what I mean by “high processing power”!

right, it's not just about learning, it is about useful synthesis of new results from that knowledge.

Most people don't challenge themselves to the point where they reach their cognitive limits, but when they do it become quite clear who has the most natural processing power. I have an undergraduate degree in math, the levels of talent were very noticeable even though we were all putting in the same time and were 'nurtured' the same. People like Isaac Newton are simply better equipped.

Memory is an important function that I have not purposefully tried to develope, but I think people like Kasparov do. Memory by itself though is useless, there are plenty of savants with exceptional memory but can't put it to good use. Kasparov uses memory to visualize many chess moves into the future and devise a strategy. It took IBM several iterations on their deep blue supercomputer to beat him. You cannot nurture the average person to Kasparov competance.

The nurture argument is way overdone in my opinion, and has become a political tool for blacks to get more money. I was one of 6, my blue collar parents had no time to nurture anyone yet by second grade the teacher was using me for a math grader of the other students since I took the workbook home and did half a years worth over a weekend all by myself. The older I get, the more people I know came from broken homes and yet they showed very good cognitive application. So what is it exactly that black mothers are doing wrong? We know dad isn't around, what exactly are the black mothers doing to hold their kids back? It's all another politically correct pile of crap.

  7. There's no flattering choice: They cannot accept that a genetic cause is at work and and recognizing crappy cultural/environmental causes isn't esteem boosting either : Therefore the tests must be wrong and if the test are not wrong it must be inherent racism in the ether that's the problem.

So all they have is denial or :

LOL, I wanted to get out of my parents house so bad that I thought working summers and school was a pretty decent gig.

Basically my family grew up like a wolfpack, mother and father just herded and brought home a carcass now and then.

  10. Phoenix Trading, explain why you have only 5th grade math of knowledge. If you have some superior gene, what is happened? Hmm? And cooltrader explain why you have so much intelligence for the math but you come to ET to talk about your fear of "inferior" people. Why do you care so much? Please use your genes to help the world, and not talk on the ET about "inferior" people.
