So, exactly how smart were you again?

  3. Ha!

Did you notice, however that when they questioned the pilot of the ultralite, they said they would match his forward speed? But Jamie pulled the tarp at the takeoff speed.

2 very different things, IMHO. Actually, we covered this. The plane's wheels needed to spin twice as fast, and it felt normal to the pilot.

Guess I need to write and tell them what a lousy job they did matching the planes FORWARD speed, LOL.

Wonder what they'd say to THAT.

Well, I believe they did match his forward speed (as close as they could) -- they both began accelerating at the same time and once Jamie got to takeoff speed, he held it at that speed.

In the end of course doesn't matter whether Jamie accelerated faster or slower than the plane accelerated(couldn't tell from the video), the end result was going to be just the same.

    Yes, exactly.

Again, it seem to me that without some sort of computer interconnect and automatic speed control, they did a pretty *good* job of matching.

I'd a like to have seem more of an interview with that stunned pilot after he took off just like normal. They should have had him miked up during the event.
