Learning to read Tape

  1. What's the best suggested way to learn how to read tape?

    Thanks,

  2. watch the markets for many many months and jot down your observations. Then look back at charts to deduce what is happening. Over time, you'll develop an instinct for what is going on.

There is no shortcut, no books that will truly help you. Its all about screentime and experience coupled with being clever and observant.

  3. Thanks for the response - much appreciated.

ok, so "watch the markets" are you saying watch tape. I've attached what I believe to be tape from Commander 2.0 in my TD Ameritrade account - Is this what we're talking about (i.e. what to "watch").

    Thanks again,
