leading indicator of rate hike tomorrow

  1. just had a thought - the commoditiy markets ahve been in free-fall(oil, gold, NG, etc) the past several weeks - is this in anticipation of a hike tomorrow?

(e.g. value of USD goes up on rate hike, commodities react down, then adjust upward to reflect new valuation over the next month or two...)

    tell me i'm krazy.

p.s. im not an arbitrageur, i just play one on the internet.

  2. If you want a leading indicator, look at the Fed Funds contracts.

  3. that's too obvious for me - everyone is looking at that.

I'm trying to find behavior in instruments that are not so obviously correlated...

  4. Karl, you're crazy! Get out of your Palo Alto dorm room and bang some co-eds.

  5. god, i so wish....

I'm in Detroit, though there are a lot of co-eds in the area......
