Yes... and once again all the Russian and Chinese propaganda media outlets calling for the stop of all western mRNA vaccines including Moderna which has nothing to do with the situation in Norway --- is just using this caution note from Norway for their global propaganda purposes. This might be a good time to note that the COVID vaccines from China and Russia were never tested on elderly people. It should be noted that at this point - a huge number of elderly people over 75 globally have taken Pfizer COVID vaccine without any side effects including my in-laws. So 23 people represent what percentage of people over 75 globally who have taken the Pfizer vaccine? The Zero Hedge article is pure propaganda straight from the Kremlin.
I think the pinpointed subset of people taking the vaccine, referenced in the article, was over 80, specially frail and terminally ill. mRNA’s, while they’ve been on the drawing boards for a while are brand new in reality. 2-3 years from now we’ll know much more. And while I understand the need for the quick approach, response to combat the virus, some skepticism and caution is warranted. Both Johnson and Johnson and AstraZeneca will be out soon.
Coronavirus: Norway raises concern over Pfizer vaccine as 29 elderly people die after receiving shot Pfizer said it was working with the Norwegian health agency to investigate the deaths. https://scroll.in/latest/984243/cor...as-29-elderly-people-die-after-receiving-shot Norway on Saturday expressed concern about the safety of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine on elderly people with serious underlying medical conditions, after at least 29 of them died within days of receiving the shot, Bloomberg reported. The vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech was the only one available in Norway until Friday, and “all deaths are thus linked to this vaccine,” the Norwegian Medicines Agency said in a written response to Bloomberg. “There are 13 deaths that have been assessed, and we are aware of another 16 deaths that are currently being assessed,” the agency added. All the reported deaths relate to “elderly people with serious basic disorders”. Norway said that most of the people experienced the expected side effects of the vaccine, such as nausea and vomiting, fever, local reactions at the injection site, “and worsening of their underlying condition”. On Friday, Norwegian Medicines Agency Chief Physician Sigurd Hortemo had said that common reactions to the vaccine, including fever and nausea, “may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail patients”. The findings prompted the Scandinavian country to suggest that the Pfizer vaccine may be too risky for elderly vulnerable patients. “For those with the most severe frailty, even relatively mild vaccine side effects can have serious consequences,” the country said. “For those who have a very short remaining life span anyway, the benefit of the vaccine may be marginal or irrelevant.” At the same time, Norway’s health agency said the deaths were an expected outcome of the process. “The Norwegian Medicines Agency has communicated, prior to the vaccination, that when vaccinating the oldest and sickest, it is expected that deaths will occur in a time-related context with vaccination,” it said. “This does not mean that there is a causal link between vaccination and death. We have also, in connection with the reported deaths, conveyed that it is possible that common and known side effects of the vaccines may have been a contributing factor to a serious course or fatal outcome.” The country, however, adjusted its advisory on who gets the Covid-19 vaccine, leaving it up to each doctor to consider who should be vaccinated, AP reported. “Doctors must now carefully consider who should be vaccinated,” said Steinar Madsen, medical director with Norway’s medical agency. “Those who are very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment.” Pfizer said it was working with the Norwegian regulator to investigate the deaths in the country, Bloomberg reported.
The other point that goes along with the points that Norway is making is that even if the very elderly receive a covid vaccine without negative side effects, many will nevertheless die in general but also die of covid. All vaccines require the patient to have at least some level of a functioning immune system, involving t-cells, native immune cells, and memory cells. The vaccine jumpstarts that to product more defenses based on that immune systems ability to do so. With very advanced age or immune deficiency there just is not much to work with. We see this with the flu and pneumonia. There are vaccines for both of those infectious diseases, yet they are the major cause of (or precipitating final even anyway) of deaths in nursing homes. Norway is or may be weaseling a bit when they pull out the old kneejerk saw about "they should check with their doctor." The question is are you requiring the pharma companies to do the kind of research on specific populations that would provide a basis for your doctor to even have an informed opinion? If not, well, get going. Otherwise you are just passing liability and responsibility to the persons doctor who is just reading one chapter ahead or behind in the book like the rest of us to try to keep up. Same situation in regard to the safety for kids taking the vaccine. Not much or no research has been done on that for most vaccines so just telling the parents to talk to their doctor is pretty lame. What guidance have you provided to doctors and upon what research?
California Halts COVID Vaccinations From Moderna Batch Linked To "Unusually High Number" Of Adverse Reactions As the suspected death toll attributed to COVID-19 vaccines rises around the world, with dozens already reported in the US and Norway, California health officials have asked health-care providers in the state to immediately stop administering a batch of Moderna COVID-19 jabs after an "unusually high number" of adverse reactions were linked to it, according to RT. On order of State epidemiologist Dr. Erica S. Pan and the California Department of Public Health, the vaccines should be shelved until a proper investigation can be conducted. The lot in question is Moderna Lot 041L20A. https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/...inked-unusually-high-number-adverse-reactions
Pfizer Covid vaccine may stop people transmitting disease to others, new study shows Scientists knew the vaccine stopped those who had the jab having the most serious symptoms of the virus, but it was unclear if they could still pass it on to others https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/pfizer-covid-vaccine-stop-people-23346678 The Pfizer coronavirus vaccine may stop people passing on the virus to others, according to new research. Scientists already knew the vaccine stopped those who had the jab having the most serious symptoms of the virus, but it was unclear if they could still pass it on to others. In a huge boost, an expert in Israel says that once people have both injections they should stop being able to transmit Covid-19. Professor Gili Regev-Yohai, director of Sheba’s Infectious Disease Epidemiology Unit, has released early findings of her research at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, the Jerusalem Post reports. The lower viral load after having the two-dose vaccine will mean they shed fewer viral particles from their mouth and nose and therefore they are less infectious. She added that those inoculated are less like to spread it further because they have high level of antibodies. Research showed people given the Pfizer Covid vaccine have up to 20 times more antibodies than people who have had Covid and recovered. Professor Regev-Yochay said: "The results of the survey are in line with Pfizer’s experiment and even better than expected. “I expect that the survey results of the other employees participating will be similar. "There is certainly reason for optimism.” Trials of the Pfize jab showed it was 95 per cent effective at stopping people becoming ill with Covid-19 if they get infected, after two doses are given. Four million people have been given at least one dose of either the Pfizer or Oxford vaccine so far in the UK.
