The Chinese vaccine will likely be the predominant one in 2nd & 3rd world countries. "Winning hearts and minds". It also has a head start on the field. If I recall, this symptom was exhibited among infants with COVID, though it may have been Hashimoto

Ah, so it's the anti-vaxxers that put the "there's a microchip in it" into a discussion with a friend yesterday. That one caught me by surprise.

The Trump administration turned down more vaccine doses 'as recently as November,' former FDA commissioner says

    • The Trump administration once again rejected an offer from Pfizer for more COVID-19 vaccines "as recently as November," according to former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Scott Gottlieb.
    • "There were multiple conversations with the U.S. government about taking more supply in the second quarter," Gottlieb, who is a Pfizer board member, told CNBC on Monday.
    • This comes on the heels of the Trump administration reportedly rejecting 100 million doses of Pfizer's recently approved COVID-19 vaccine over the summer, according to The New York Times.

  6. I know that certain posters are on the cruise for Trump failures, but nevertheless, it is probably relevant to mention that while Trump turned down a chance to buy another 100 million from Pfizer, he just purchased another 100 million from Moderna. Not to forget that Moderna was jointly developed with Fauci's agency so chances that it will not be approved are ZERO. Not counting the usual week or ten day delays.

Pfizer wanted an option but could not commit to delivery. Plus their price and handling requirements are steep. No one wants all their eggs in a limited basket of one or two suppliers. Trump has created a market and is taking advantage of the market and is playing one pharm supplier off against the other.

We get it though. Trump has to fail. The lefty script requires it.

  8. Yep. As I have posted several times, I think the approach that the the Ruskies are taking has merit, but their weakness is their sloppy test rigor and transparency so you see their test results and just roll your eyes and don't have enough info to critique anything specific.

So to me, the bigger news is that there are more and more reports about the Ruskies and Astrazenaca partnering so the Astrazenaca has obviously seen some things in detail. And, Astrazenca knows that anything they get involved in will ultimately require them to put their products through a western style rigor and transparency. Not only for their reputation but if they want to sell their vaccine in the west.

So that is all for the good I think.

Not sure exactly what form that is taking right now. I have read that they are just collaborating with the Ruskies to compare the efficacy of their vaccine against the ruskies but I have also read that they are collaborating to actually co-venture on the the russian vaccine if it holds up. Not sure they know yet but the wheels are turning which is good.

Unlike the other vaccines, the russians have a two shot vaccination process but the two shots are two different kinds of vaccines, rather than the second dose just being a repeat of the first.

They also have a classic, more traditional dead-virus vaccine too. As do the the Chinese.
