Great story because I've mentioned many times that I had a complete physical and blood chemistry work about a month prior to my vaccination...my doctor notified me was not suitable for the J&J vaccine because I had an allergy to one of the components in that vaccine that could cause a severe side effect or death.

We eventually settle on the Moderna vaccine and I've been fully vaccinated with it without any side effects.

Seriously, that guy could be me had I been vaccinated with the J&J vaccine.

In fact, that's my dig against the vaccination program. Too many people are blindly getting vaccinated without a complete physical and without blood chemistry work.

It reminds me of playing collegiate sports when I was younger. We had to have a complete physical prior to being allowed to play college athletics.

in fairness, it's a numbers game; a full body panel to get vaxxed would likely result in more deaths from those who can't afford/won't do it it so it's easy to see why that's not done to prevent ultimately rare side effects.

In Europe more and more countries work with a Covid safe ticket. It is a QR code that you receive on your phone when you did the full vaccination procedure. Without this ticket you cannot got to restaurants, movies, museums, café, sport events...
Everywhere you have to show the ticket before you can enter. And suddenly vaccination rate goes up exponential. In some area's suddenly 3,000 people a day come to get the vaccination instead of the usual 500. Vaccination goes up everywhere they require the Covid safe ticket.
Is this not the ultimate proof that antivaxxers have fake reasons/accusations against vaccination?

They say that you will die within three years, you will need every year again vaccination, that the government wants to control you, that you become a zombie, etc...
If these reasons were really true, I would move to another country/place where vaccination is not required. I would not risk my life, my health, being controlled, or becoming a zombie. I would do anything to avoid vaccination. But the antivaxxers suddenly prefer to go to restaurants, movies, museums, café instead of saving their life, etc...
If you are really convinced of what you preach, you should never get vaccination. But it is clear that the majority of antivaxxers confirm themselves that their arguments were all fake.

I strongly agree and it's something that the United States should have done when vaccination rolled out instead of now going the route of mandates for adults.

Simply, in my opinion, vaccination QR verification allows citizens to understand what activities are important to them (its not a right they have to use those activities of a private business / private resource) and its a reminder that society as a whole must protect the welfare, health, and safety of their community / country.

Here in Canada we now use vaccination QR verification but the only time I had to show my QR code on my cell phone (I also have a document just in case I forget my cell phone or its not charged) was when one of my teenagers and I had a meeting with their hockey team.
    • My son had to show his QR vaccination code too and he also keeps a document as a backup in his backpack.
Sure there are people out there using other venues that were using faked QR codes and fake documents but a lot of them have been caught, fired from jobs, publicly shamed and one had was being sued in a civil lawsuit against him because he infected a co-worker that needed to be hospitalized even though he (person with the fake QR code) only had mild symptoms.

Yesterday, I heard about an NHL hockey player that showed fake vaccination info and it was shocking because there are a few people on their team training staff that are immune-compromise. In my opinion, he should have been arrested on top of being suspended from the team for 21 games.

This isn't a game...there are people dying from Covid and a lot more being hospitalized. People need to be held accountable for their Covidiot bullshit...if they can't be arrested then those around them can make sure it is going to cost their person a pretty penny for the stupidity.

Another study shows vaccines are very effective against Delta.

Covishield may offer over 90% protection against death from Delta variant: Study
    https://www.deccanchronicle.com/sci...protection-against-death-from-delta-vari.html

Two doses of Covishield and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines may be 90 per cent effective at preventing deaths from the Delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, according to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday.

The study, using data from the Scotland-wide EAVE II COVID-19 surveillance platform, is the first to show across an entire country how effective vaccines are at preventing death from the Delta variant, the dominant form of the virus in many other countries.

The research team from Universities of Edinburgh and Strathclyde and Public Health Scotland analysed data from 5.4 million people in Scotland between April 1 and September 27, 2021.

During this period, 115,000 people tested positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test conducted in the community, rather than in hospital, and there were 201 deaths recorded due to the virus.

The study found that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 90 per cent effective and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, known as Covishield in India, is 91 per cent effective in preventing deaths in people who have been double vaccinated, but who have tested positive for coronavirus in the community.

"With the Delta variant now the dominant strain in many places worldwide and posing a higher risk of hospitalisation than previous variants seen in the UK, it is reassuring to see that vaccination offers such high protection from death very shortly after the second dose," said Professor Aziz Sheikh, Director of the University of Edinburgh's Usher Institute, and EAVE II study lead.

"If you still have not taken up your offer to be vaccinated, I would encourage you to do so based on the clear benefits it offers,” Sheikh said.

The researchers defined death from COVID-19 as anyone who died within 28 days of a positive PCR test, or with COVID-19 recorded as a cause of death on their death certificate.

The study analysed a dataset as part of the EAVE II project, which uses anonymised linked patient data to track the pandemic and the vaccine roll out in real time.

The researchers said to increase confidence in these early findings, the study needs to be repeated in other countries and settings, and with longer follow-up time after full vaccination.

They noted that because of the observational nature of the study, data about vaccine effectiveness should be interpreted with caution and it is not possible to make a direct comparison between both vaccines.

"Our findings are encouraging in showing that the vaccine remains an effective measure in protecting both ourselves and others from death from the most dominant variant of COVID-19," said Professor Chris Robertson, from the University of Strathclyde and Public Health Scotland.

"It is very important to validate these early results in other settings and with a longer follow-up study," Robertson added.

Sinovac is so ineffective that Singapore requires three doses of it for you to be considered fully vaccinated.

Sinovac included in Singapore's national Covid-19 vaccination programme; 3 doses recommended
    https://www.straitstimes.com/singap...tional-covid-19-vaccination-programme-3-doses

SINGAPORE - The Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine will be included in the national vaccination programme to cater to those unable or unwilling to be vaccinated with mRNA vaccines, the multi-ministry task force managing the pandemic said on Saturday (Oct 23).

This follows the Health Sciences Authority's (HSA) interim authorisation of the vaccine under the Pandemic Special Access Route (PSAR).

Three doses of the Sinovac vaccine will be required for a person to be considered fully vaccinated, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The second dose should be taken 28 days after the first dose, while the third dose should be taken 90 days after the second dose, the HSA said.

All individuals who have taken two doses of the Sinovac vaccine will be regarded as fully vaccinated for four months after the second dose, or Dec 31 this year, whichever is later.

Individuals will have to get their third doses by then in order to maintain their vaccination status.

Under the national vaccination programme, the Sinovac vaccine will be administered for free, and will come under the Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance programme.

However, individuals who took the Sinovac vaccine before PSAR approval was given and paid for it themselves will not be reimbursed, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung, who co-chairs the taskforce.

MOH will assign the vaccination centre at Raffles City Convention Centre to administer the Sinovac vaccine, Mr Ong added.

This is on top of 11 Public Health Preparedness Clinics as well as select private clinics.

MOH provided the following guidelines on Saturday:

    - People who have received only one or two doses of the Sinovac vaccine to date are strongly encouraged to complete a three-dose primary series regime with the mRNA vaccines as it offers more optimal protection.

    - People who are unable to take any dose of the mRNA vaccines due to medical reasons should receive three doses of Sinovac in total to complete their primary series regime.

    - Those who started vaccination with mRNA vaccines but developed allergies or severe adverse reactions after the first dose should complete a three-dose primary series regime with two more doses of Sinovac.

    - If the allergic reaction happens after the second dose of mRNA vaccine, then the person should take one more dose of Sinovac as their booster vaccination when they are eligible for a booster.

    - Sinovac will be not offered as a booster for people who have already completed two doses of mRNA vaccine and did not develop allergies or severe adverse reactions. For this group, a third dose of mRNA vaccine will be offered to them as the booster dose instead under the National Vaccination Programme.

Mr Ong said that of the eligible population, 94 per cent have either taken or have booked their vaccinations.

But among the 6 per cent of the eligible population who remain unvaccinated, 70,000 are seniors above 70 years or 60 years old.

"They are at a high risk of falling very sick if infected with Covid-19," Mr Ong said.

"Some of these unvaccinated individuals are unable to take the mRNA vaccines due to medical reasons. Others may just simply prefer a non-mRNA vaccine.

"So we will make the Sinovac vaccine more accessible to them, to encourage them to get vaccinated."

The ministry also said that the Sinovac vaccine has not been approved for general use for individuals aged 12 to 17 years.

This is not in the application from Sinovac and is also consistent with the World Health Organisation's approved use under the Emergency Use Listing.

However, for those in this age band who are medically ineligible to complete a full two-dose regime of the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty mRNA vaccines, MOH will offer a three-dose primary series using Sinovac under a dedicated public health programme.

They will be closely monitored by trained medical personnel under this public health programme, given that the use of Sinovac in persons under the age of 18 years was not included in HSA's PSAR interim authorisation, said MOH.

"We will get in touch with eligible persons in this age group on how they can receive the Sinovac vaccine safely."

Addressing a question at Saturday’s press conference on why the Sinopharm vaccine is not being included in the national vaccination programme, Mr Ong said “there has been no application from Sinopharm”.

“We had an application with Sinovac... It’s been given interim approval. The number of doses being administered in Singapore is not big enough for us to do a comprehensive study, not for Sinovac, and for Sinopharm, it is even lower.”

But studies in Brazil and Chile have yielded some good data that helps in the comparisons of vaccine effectiveness against infection, severe illnesses and death, he noted.

Just pointing out the obvious, you bash Sinovac for requiring 3 doses to be fully vaxxed.

Doesn’t Pfizer and Moderna require 3 jabs to be fully vaccinated, 1st, 2nd & booster?
