  1. The nurse is not necessarily following the science here.

The pisser is that the woman who received the six shots will probably receive a reminder in a couple weeks to come in for her 2nd shot.

Or will they send her a reminder to come in for her 7th shot. That would piss me off.

Distracted nurse gives woman 6 doses of COVID vaccine in one shot

Rome — A 23-year-old Italian woman who was mistakenly given six doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine all at once was released from a hospital on Monday without having suffered any apparent adverse reactions, local health authorities said. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at the Noa Hospital in Massa, in Tuscany.

The patient was kept under observation for approximately 24 hours in the hospital's emergency room. Doctors said she was given fluids, and anti-inflammatory and fever medications as preventative measures.

She will probably get a reminder notice to show up for shots 7 to 12.

  3. If she were in the U.S. you can be sure that the hospital would still bill her insurance for all six shots, then later the hospital's billing department would notify her that her insurance only covered one shot so she is responsible for the balance.

Yeh, no mercy. You go in for kidney surgery and they remove your right leg by mistake. Then they notify you that insurance only covered 80% of it.

"Please do not hesitate to call our accounts receivable department should you have questions, and be sure to take our online survey. We are committed to customer care and satisfaction."

  5. Yep. And as we have discussed, no vaccine is 100%.

I sure hope that after six shots and then another two weeks later she is not one of the ones who ends out getting re-infected.

You know that's gonna hurt if that happens. But once you have pissed the Great Spirit off for some reason you can have a long stretch of bad ju-ju sometimes.

US FDA authorizes Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine for use in people ages 12 to 15
    https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/10/health/pfizer-vaccine-eua-12-15-teens/index.html

The US Food and Drug Administration has expanded the emergency use authorization for Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine to include people ages 12 to 15.

This is the first Covid-19 vaccine in the United States authorized for use in younger teens and adolescents; the vaccine had previously been authorized for people age 16 and older. Covid-19 vaccines from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are authorized for use in people age 18 and older.

To support the extended use, the FDA reviewed data submitted by Pfizer. The company said at the end of March that a clinical trial involving 2,260 12-to-15-year-olds showed the vaccine's efficacy is 100% and it is well tolerated.

The FDA's independent Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee did not meet to vote on whether to recommend the expansion of the EUA to 12-to-15-year-olds. But the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is scheduled to meet Wednesday to advise CDC on whether to recommend use of the vaccine in this age group. CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky will then decide whether the agency will recommend the vaccine's use in the new group.

Vaccinations for 12-to-15-year-olds are not expected to begin until after that recommendation. The Biden administration has said it will quickly mobilize to ready vaccinations for 12-to-15-year-olds through the federal pharmacy program, pediatricians and family doctors.

Expanding authorization to people 12 to 15 opens Covid-19 vaccination to another 5% of the US population, nearly 17 million more people. The expanded authorization means 85% of the US population is eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.

Pfizer said last week it expects to submit for emergency use authorization for its Covid-19 vaccine for children ages 2 to 11 years old in September. Its vaccine safety and efficacy study in children ages 6 months to 11 years old is ongoing.

The FDA also scheduled a meeting of its Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee for June 10 to discuss the potential extension of EUA to children under 12.

"During the meeting the agency will provide a status update on our approach to emergency use authorization (EUA) for COVID-19 vaccines intended for use in individuals 12 through 17 years of age," the FDA said in a statement.

"The committee will also discuss the data needed to support an EUA and a biologics license application (BLA) for a COVID-19 vaccine intended for use in children less than 12 years of age. The committee will not discuss any specific products," it added.

Vaccines made by Moderna and by Johnson & Johnson are currently authorized for use in people 18 and older.
"We recognize that the next critical step is having vaccines available for use throughout the pediatric population," Dr, Peter Marks, head of the FDA division in charge of vaccines, said in a statement.

"As with the initial COVID-19 vaccine authorizations, we want to ensure that the public has a clear understanding of our expectations for the data and information needed to support requests for emergency use authorization and biologics license applications for vaccines intended to prevent COVID-19 in this pediatric age range."

Under age 17 - 277 deaths with COVID
Also under age 17 - 5200 deaths from accidents.
If we cared about the kids, we wouldn’t allow them to unintentionally die.

In 2019, 278 kids under 17 died from flu. remember when we closed the schools and the entire world back then? Didn’t we care?

  10. As I have said twice before, I support Americans vaccinating adult and at-risk Canadians before American children unless the child has other risk factors.

Also as I said before, I know this is not going to happen. Just sayin where I am at with it.

Canadians have been peaceful allies, good trade partners, and our men have died face down in the mud together in more than one war. America's policies should not be shaped by some of the assholes who call themselves Americans these days nor should we abandon traditional Canadians just because of some of their riff-raff.

High risk Canadians and adult Canadians before American children. If select American parents assert their right to have their children vaccinated first, I would yield to that. Just sayin that we have allies who are dying and I would work with them before trying to go in areas where it is going to take a lot of work to even get them to take it. As I said, hellbent parents who are outraged should go first if they insist but that is still going to leave a lotttt of vaccine.
